CD, in another post I mentioned my SIL and how she handled OC situation & that she had passed away last year. You asked about how things where going now, with my brother & his OW and OC.
Well, OW has taken some action to get right in the middle of my brothers life. He recently had to be hospitalized (minor incident) and she was planning on taking over responsibilty of his daughter (from his marriage) and bringing OC to his home and playing "mom" while he was in hospital. I stepped in & took his D to my house. When he came home I had a talk about OW and her actions. He agrees that she is trying to take control & he has told her stay away. I told him that I promised SIL before she passed that the last thing I would see happen was him get together with OW.
I guess I fear that if anything happens to me, OW is there and waiting. The only way to ensure she isn't raising my children is to get a will written that sends children to someone else. But my H and I have to divorce before I can exclude him from their care if I die. Just another thing to spend dollars on at the lawyers office.
Carolyn

Takingcare,
Thanks for getting back to me.
I asked because I have the same fear. Even though it's been a few years, I believe if something were to happen to me, OW will be johnny on the spot.
Good for you - stopping OW's plans by taking charge of your niece.
