...and extremely excited. Just got off the phone with attorney in Texas. My husband and I are flying down to Dallas in two weeks to meet the attorney and sign the documents he will have prepared.
When I get more details I will post the particulars. This attorney wants to set a precedent and make an example of this OW. He is so passionate about this suit, I feel like I've found Clarence Darrow. I told him about this site (MB Forum) and about all of you (generally speaking, of course) and how this is unfortunately becoming almost tragically common. I explained the hardship of child support laws and the unjust and unfair income shares, how almost all of us are being squeezed financially and the damage it is creating to our lives and to our homes.
He wants to do something about this...he wants to help. And he's doing this for considerably less than what he would normally charge, as he said "for the principle of it all".
I can't wait to give you more details. They'll be in the mail in the next couple days and will relay what I can to you.
Catnip =^^=

Catnip,
Ask him if he's got a brother lawyer here in Missouri? Naw, seriously, good luck to you. Set that precedent, and then maybe the rest of us will be able to find an attorney without begging. Good Luck!!!!!! Hey
Let's all pray that the precedent is set and that OW will not trap our Hs. and use innocent babies to get what they want, and that there will be less hurt for MW all round . Hope it gets legislated.

You go Girl!!!!! I'm so happy. In working in the legal field every day it gets frustrating when you feel like the good guy can't win - and then it is always refreshing when you run across an attorney that simply wants to do thing for the principle. God Speed. I'll be praying for you and for all of us in this situation. Hopefully your plight will help save a lot of people!
------------------
Catnip,
My thoughts and prayers will be with you every step of the way. I have followed your story and have a similar one to tell. I am presently searching for a Personal Injury-specializing attorney to take on a tort claim for intentional infliction of emotional distress against my OW. My tale is nearly as bizarre (But, not quite) as yours. Unfortunately, I'm having real trouble finding someone who is willing to take the case.
My OW is getting worse by the week, and no one will help us. We have already spent $9000+ in a year and a half on 2 separate attorneys, neither or whom know what in the #@*# they are doing.
PLEASE keep us posted. See if your attorney happens to have any buddies in Indiana. The hopes of many of us are riding with you. [Linked Image from marriagebuilders.com]

Carriemom: I'm leaving on 9/15, I think. But, let's get together before I go...I'll probably need your reinforcement!
Leelee: Thanks for being there. I know I can count on you. I'll e-mail you later.
Heavenly: Your kind words encourage me. thank you.
Babstr: Where have you been??? And, are you OK? Thanks for lurking and lending your support.
ktgirl: You crack me up...a lawyer brother in Missouri..I'm sure. But, you know, if this flies at all, it might open up some doors in other states. Who knows.
Weep & Daycare: I sure appreciate you cheering me on. It means so much to have so many in my corner. You know, this isn't just for me anymore, it's kind of become for all of us in a peculiar way.
Anniem: I need to go back and read your similar story. I, too, have spent in excess of $9,000 on ineffective and expensive attorneys and I am doing it again. This time, I am hoping that he is not ineffective. I'll fly down and find out before I go any further. Thanks for your good wishes.
Lone Star: I don't know if you lurk on this site, but yesterday on GQ you cautioned me about unscrupulous attorneys. Since you're in Texas and in the profession, perhaps you will have heard of him. Let me know if you would like his name and perhaps you can advise me if you know him or have heard of him. I am heeding your advise and going down there in two weeks to meet him and determine if this guy is for real. It isn't alienation of affection, it's for personal injury. And he says I have an EXCELLENT case, given all the documentation I have and the way everything transpired.
I'm buying my tickets in the morning to fly down on the early flight Friday, 9-15. I'll come back late on Saturday the 16th and will let you know what happened and what was said.
I can't beleive I am really going to do this.
Catnip =^^=

Hey Catnip,
I'm glad you like my sense of humor. It's nice to know these days I still have it. Throw open those doors Catnip, we are all waiting for a chance to walk through and show these parasites that they cannot just do what they want and get away with it scottfree. Good luck, and you are in my prayers. [Linked Image from marriagebuilders.com]
