As usual the Bureaucrats in charge of taking care of the OC mess over the family. My H's military retirement is what we lose part of each month to pay child support, $500 a month. This month the state of NC as well as the county the OC child lives in decided to get into the act. They withdrew $1000 and HE was notified on Fri, 29 sept that there would be a shortfall in the 1 Oct check to US. Did he tell me? NO! He decided to wait until he had it resolved. As of today it is still not resolved. He is trying to handle it via EMail. To say I am not a happy camper is an understatement. Sure wish I knew why my children had to be shorted $500 this month and why we did not get more notification so this could have been resolved prior to our "loss" so we could have prepared for this. Sometimes I wonder why I did not walk away when I learned about the child. Yet I know how much my children would have suffered at losting their Dad. And, he is sooooo sorry now. Thanks for listening. See ya TGirl

TG,
What exactly happened? Don't you already have a set amount of child support? Why would they be able to just take out more without some reason. I really don't understand this. Now I am worried. I thought once the court order was done, than they had to wait at least two years or significant increase in income. If it hasn't been either of those why and how did they take more. If that happens in our situation, we will be up the creek. I am doing a move to be able to pay the normal child support. What is the reasoning for this, if you have more info I would love to hear it. Catnip is of course right, somebody's head should roll!!
babstr.

As I undersand it tonight, the NC state decided to take over collecting the child support payments statewide. Instead of child support going to the county as it has been. So money was disbursed to both the county and the state. Meanwhile, the county has not received the $500 that was supposed to be stopped and was not. It is somewhere in "limbo". So now my H has to "petition" the county to send it to us when the receive it. And we are out $500 until it surfaces.
So........ I guess he will handle it. Thank goodness I have been working full time this month rather than not working like I was last month. Thanks for the support from you all, just had to let off steam, I can console my self that there are only 12 more years of this. Again, thanks and I am off tonight. ![[Linked Image from marriagebuilders.com]](http://www.marriagebuilders.com/forum/images/icons/smile.gif) TG

Babsstr, we had child support locked in. Basically, what happend that they started drawing funds out of his check to send one place and someone did not stop the authorization to send to the original place. So instead of just one state agency drawing money from us we had two. It was not really an increase in CS, it was a bureaucratic accountant's error either at US Military payment center or the State of NC or Buncombe County offices. One these or all screwed up and we got screwed.
STUPIDITY!!!!!!! But, isn't that what this is all about? Hope this reassures you a little. See ya,TG
