Hello to all, I have been putting off posting here becaue ow reads everything, she quoted some of my posts to my h in an email. But, I got to thinking..so what, read all you want, just stay out of my life! Anyway, how long does it take for blood test to be ordered? 3 mths? This is crazy, I am sick of waiting to know if the oc is his or not, why is ow putting this off? Or does it take this long? Sorry to sound so angry, It's just been one of those Years!
Noodles

Noodles,
In our case we got served paternity papers in March and the DNA test was done in April and we knew by May. I think part of the reason it went so fast is the state was the one filing the suit. (she was on state medical while she was pregnant)
I would really question her not doing it. It sounds to me like she may have doubts herself.
Good luck and I hope this helped a little.
LadyGirl75
Thank you for your reply. Really, medical, so is ow in our case? Why would she go to the trouble to get a lawyer and all if the state would do it for her? That is strange, when the state would have done it for her. don't you think?
[This message has been edited by noodles (edited November 02, 2000).]

Hy H arrainged private DNA tests. From the time he contacted a lab, it was about 2 weeks for the test date to be set up, then about 2 weeks for results.
And yes, if the state is involved in any way (medical insurance, aid, welfare, etc.) they will aggressively hunt down a father & get testing done. I am surprised that they haven't pursued this. Anyway, the tests are simple to set up & get done. It shouldn't take 3 months.
Good luck... Carolyn

In our case, the OC was born in August '99 and the OW was on state medical (welfare). My husband was required to have his DNA test in September.
We never received any official notice of the results, no letter, no documentation or lab report from anyone, anywhere. We still do not have "official" results in black and white.
When he had a telephone testimony with the courts in December 1999, the judge/hearing officer said that the results were 99.9, and then asked him a lot of questions about his finances. That's how we found out, and since then, no reports have been sent to us. We are going on hearsay.
So, for us, it was about 60 days, I guess.
Also, the welfare OW in our case retained a VERY aggressive attorney to clean our clocks for big bucks as she was looking for a meal ticket and a way to avoid seeking employment.
If the OW in your life has an attorney but is on state aid, then she is looking for more than mandated state guidelines.
Catnip =^^=

When I say 3 mths I am going by the date the lawyer papers were served which was 8-3, so I guess that would make, 3mths today, as far as birth, june 5 so that would make, almost 5 mths. I am not sure why she got a lawyer? But Catnip, I bet your right on the reason. I just want this over and done, and not at the holiday's ya know. I don't care if we have to pay cs, I have already delt with that issue, but the prolonging is driving me nuts.
takingcare-
Thank you for your reply, I am also surprised that the state hasn't persued this, wonder how she took care of that one?
catnip-
Thanks for your reply, your advice always mean so much to me, I think it would be very hard to deal with the fact of taking everything on hearsay...I would like to see it in writing, also that is why this bothers me so much. You said something about welfare, well as far as I know, our ow is 30 something and bascially lives off of daddy's money, and welfare, I get the strong impression that she doesn't want to work, also, can only think of two jobs she has had,and one was for like 5 mths tops, and the other was stripping, don't know any others, might be but who knows, gets her house paid for, medical, and who knows what eles, get cs from her exh, I know from my H she is an expert at using the system. She wanted my H to pay for the blood test, and thought it was unfair that she had to, well, why should the might-be-father pay when it might not be his? Think we would ever see that money again? Sorry to be so long, got on a role there.
JCM
Thanks for your input, I am truly sorry, about your birthday, sometimes all of this doesn't seem fair. I never in a million years thought there were people out there like this, basically thought everyone was good, but, Oh, how I learned that lesson..I hate the fact that others, such as you ladies/gents, had to learn it also..Its sad and unfair, but I feel all of you make the best out of a bad situation.
Thank You everyone for your input, I thought this might be dragging on, but didn't know, now I do..
Noodles

To noodles,
Just getting back on after a break, just to clear my head.
Our case is simular to catnip's. H had his DNA test done in January '00. To this day we have not heard anything from it. We do not believe that OW took OC's to have done, since the state was paying and neither my H or OW had to pay.
OW is on state assistance and she told H that I would want an DNA test done. Well who wouldn't. H was stupid as far as have the A with her, but since I have gotten in on the process, I want it in writing.
Please pray for me, D-day is approaching and I am feeling rather emotional.ITS

I can hardly believe what some of the states are doing ot all of us.
In our state (WA) the OW has to report who the father is. If she doesn't know she has to list all the possibles. If there is more than one the state pays for the DNA tests. If she refuses to disclose the fathers name she loses all the state aid. I think she also has to pay the state back.
We also have very "good" cs guidelines. they take into account all children being provided for by the father. I feel fortunate every time I hear you guys talk about the complete injustice of the courts.
My H went for a paternity test after calling an out-of state lab. The lab directed him to a site for blood drawing. He paid 50% and once the results came three days later we paid the final 50%. The lab questioned why the testing agency requested blood testing. They said saliva testing is equally valid. The child is definitely my husband's.

Hi Noodles,
I used to be quite frequently on this board, but have been away for a while. My H had an affair, and the woman said she was pregnant as well. Well, your H can do as mine did, and come forward voluntarily for the Paternity testing. His appointment day is the 19th. Whew. Now just to hold on till the result are back.
