My husband and I enjoy what is an active sex life. We have been married 6 years, have three children and have sex at least 4-5 times a week. He claims satisafaction and always has.
We belong to a church that completely shuns pornography yet this continues to be an issue for my husband. The other night he returned home from work at 1am. He asked how I was feeling and I told him I was tired and returned to sleeping. I woke up a few minutes later to him masturbating while watching porn on tv. We had just had sex earlier that day before he left for work so this cannot possibly be about sex.
I flipped, told him he was acting like he was 15 (he is 39) and basically told him this was the straw that broke the camels back. I love my husband but this is just too much.
A little background. He was married before and was unfaithful, completely addicted to pornography on the internet. We married and he quit drinking and stopped the porn. We had some bouts of physical abuse where he hit me and caused injury. He would go to establishments I did not agree with and we addressed that.
Things were pretty quiet and uneventful until December. He started a new job and had to attend training out of town for 10 weeks. During that time his drinking resurfaced and he was evidentally flirting with female bartenders. The lying about his drinking started again and here we are!
I want our marriage to work but this is simply crazy. I am at the end of my rope and just dont know what to do:-(.

Be true to yourself, there are things that you believe are wrong and cannot tolerate. However you need to understand that he obviously doesn't not have the same views. Don't expect to change him. Either you can tolerate the porn or you can't. And remember sometimes sex is way of relaxing, maybe he needed to unwind before going to sleep.
The drinking is a whole other issue if he gets abusive when he drinks.
I guess what I'm trying to say is, its not about him, its about you. What you can tolerate or accept and what you can't.

I haven't any personal experience on this, but thought I'd offer you a couple of links that might be of interest. A friend of mine, who has some expereince in this area, highly recommends this book: Every Mans Battle . It has a section in it for wives, might be worth checking out. I know that MB also has an article of marriage to someone addicted to pornography: Pornography
