Flowerseed,
I will be praying.
My son turned 20 today. Thankfully he never devekoped a problem with drugs, tho I have fought him on the issue of alcohol a few times.
I wish they could understand that no matter how old they get they will ALWAYS be our babies. And that it's not that we don't want them to have *fun* or to enjoy life, that we object so strongly to drugs and alcohol, and illecit sex and other harmful things, it's that we love them and don't want them to destroy their lives.
I want my baby back, this grown man is great but he doesn't allow me to hold and hug him like my baby did . Flowerseed:
I am praying for your son and for you. You will get through this. My son is now in his early 30's and spent a good part of his teens and early twenties 'dabbling' in drugs, getting a couple DWI's and partying more than the average bear. He was a mess. Then somewhere from within, he found his strength, went to school and graduated and got a job as a stockbroker. Today he has his own business and brokers heavy equipment.
They do get through these tough times and through their experimentation as long as we are there to encourage them to channel their talents and energies and love them. Don't 'fix' things for them because it keeps them weak. Let him take his 'hits' and he will learn quicker and come out of it sooner.
All my prayers
Catnip =^^=
[This message has been edited by catnip (edited November 17, 2000).]

Dear Carol Ann (aka Flowerseed),
I will keep Jerame in my prayers and hope that God will strengthen him and give him wisdom to deal more positively with life and its problems.
Jerame is already a blessed young man because he has a mother who is gentle, caring and wise. Hopefully, with God's help, this time you will help him find a lasting solution.
God bless you both,
- Heavenly

Flowerseed,
When I was young and stupid, (now I'm old and stupid), I did ninety days in county lockup. Gave me a lot of time to think. When I got out, I wrote the sentencing judge a thank you letter. He turned my life around. I hope it is so for your son. You are in my prayers.
God bless you and your son,
------------------

Gregg

Thanks weep I will look into it. I just wanted to add that I really think Jerame would have had a totally different life if he would have had his family intack instead of being torn apart when he was 3. Oh if only I could turn back time. I have to say for anyone thinking oh is all this pain worth it, believe me it is if you see what it does to these kids when they dont have there parents together. bye for now , With love flowerseed
------------------
Carol Ann

Flowerseed, I want to thank you so much for your thoughts on Jerame and how his life might have beed different if his family had stayed together. Of course you never know about these things. But your remarks have encouraged me to keep trying to make life for my boys be the best possible life. I can live through all this for them. Occasionally my "self" speaks up and says "get out of here and go make a better life for you & the boys". But I know it is a false belief and that I shouldn't give in. So few folks are willing to say "I wish we had stayed together for our childrens sake". I just really admire you for making that statement.
Take care..
Carolyn
