Baby K. was born at 10:40 on Dec. 25 weighing just 4 and half lbs. She is doing well but will be in NICU for at leat a couple weeks. Her mama watched my kids when I miscarried this year.

God bless them and thanks for your prayers,
J

Your friend and her new baby are in my prayers.
You can tell her that my oldest weighed 4 lbs 4 oz at birth, two months premature and today he is a handsome, funny, intelligent and successful man who grew to 6 feet and 210 lbs.
In the late sixties when he was born, technology was not what it is today. As an "out of touch" teenage Mom, I was blissfully oblivious to the potential dangers of premature birth and was simply focused on how 'cute' he was.
Not only did Christopher survive being a preemie, he thrived without any health consequences whatsoever. And this was at a time when parents were not allowed to hold, comfort, touch or have any contact with the child. The child was left alone in an incubation chamber for six weeks, only held when fed by paid help. It makes me cry when I think of his first six weeks of never knowing my touch and my ignorance about it all.
If my son survived his shaky beginning without the all important care and handling, with limited technology, I pray your friend's baby will survive and thrive as mine did.
I hear that the child has an excellent chance of survival if the child is held often, cuddled and talked to. The bond begins.
Catnip =^^=

Thanks guys! [Linked Image from marriagebuilders.com]
It's nice to have you here [Linked Image from marriagebuilders.com]
Catnip, bless you too; you've been through so much.
Thanks for your prayers. This baby is doing just great! Already gaining weight and no problems. [Linked Image from marriagebuilders.com] I cried when I saw her today in NICU. She is so perfectly precious, SO tiny, without all our worldly problems, and a momma, daddy and big brother to love her. Miracles do happen.
Happy Holidays to us ALL
J
