look what i read in the news. don't know if it will be good or bad. depends on how they portray everything i guess. looks like soon our situation will be famous. and i am not sure if that will be good or bad. or if i want to see things on t.v. like this. i guess it will definitely make an opener for telling a family member or friend. but i also see it as a bit hard when people talk about it, and depending on their opinion, it could be very uncomfortable for those of us going through it. i know that the show on the spanish networks that touched on this, made it seem so easy, just kill off the OW character and raise the OC with out her. if only we could write out characters in our lives that we don't like...
article below. maybe i will write reba...
happy_girl
--------------------------------------------
Reba McEntire Gets Sitcom Deal
NASHVILLE, Tenn. Hadn't heard about that until now. i think from just reading that it is going to be a sitcom, a situation COMEDY, that it is not going to bode well for us at all. I am already quite disgusted at the media's treatment of casual A as if it is no big deal. The other day I saw a program call Meg Ryan and Russell Crowe "America's new sweethearts." As if she wasn't still married to Dennis Quaid. I personally am not looking forward to people innocently remarking about how "funny" our situation is made to seem. This may sound like I am jumping the gun and passing judgement on the show already, but I, for one, have had a hard time just with the media announcements about Jesse Jackson's love child. I was at a friend's house, who does not know about my situation, and the Jackson story came on. Immediately the friend and her parents began questioning and commenting on what kind of woman Mrs. Jackson must be for staying with her husband after such a betrayal. They were so busy slamming Mrs. Jackson's judgement that I am sure that they did not even notice the sickly "deer caught in the headlights" look of panic on my face, nor did they appear to take my silence for anything but agreement. What are we going to say when we are asked how funny we thought last night's episode of this sitcom is?

Sick, sick, sick. That is all I can think. Is there nothing that will stop them from making smut. I don't see how this could ever be funny if it really happened. Oh how I wish I could travel in time to a time when family was the most important part of this society. When people respected each other. I am afraid what this world will hold true for my own daughter. I wonder at times if this was the world I wanted her to live in. What are we offering our children. In twenty years will we be discussing how murder and rape really are not that hard to get over.
babstr.
babstr

BAD!
Anything that diminishes the family is BAD.
Anything that mocks marriage is BAD.
Anything that cheapens marriage is BAD.
Anything that makes infidelity and destruction of a marriage as commonplace and acceptable is BAD.
Anything that shows disrespect for marriage and dimiinshies the importance of this is BAD.
Our media has been success at blurring the lines of good and bad and making us question our own values and beliefs.. I have found myself at times thinking that some things I knew to be wrong were really 'not so bad' when they were. We have become so wishy-washy it makes me sick. Me included. But I try to fight it and try to be alert to the sloppy thinking.
Bad.
Catnip =^^=
