Well, h just confirmed that on Monday, we are doing a voluntary turn-in of our car. The repo people will come and pick it up Monday morning. It sucks because we had less than a year left to pay on it and also because it was originally gotten as an anniversity present from h to me shortly after our reconciliation. So watching it go is going to hurt. On the brighter side, we weren't really using the car anymore - it's too small to fit all of our brood into at once - and we have still have our van (bought for $400 and fixed up by my h the mechanic) and my h still has the truck my dad just bought him to drive to work. Also, our car insurance payments will drop dramatically after its gone because we will no longer have to pay for full coverage on any of our vehicles. Still, it feels like one more thing that ow is "taking" from me.
Tomorrow, me and h will be working to set up his "apartment" in the house so that we can prove, if need be, that we are living separately. I know that God had tremendous foresight in providing us with this house. I can't think of too many other houses that could be so easily split up like this one can. For the rest of my life when I start to complain about about the drafty rooms and the slightly uneven floors and its impossible-to-heat-everything-at-once construction, I will remember this time and be thankful. This house was actually split into apartments during WWII and they were rented out to women whose husbands had gone off to war. It was converted back to a single family dwelling after that and has been such for 50 years, but the layout is still there, right down to private entrances to both parts. I mean, this can't be just coincidental.
Here is something I got in an email today. I don't know whether you all have already seen it, but if not, enjoy:
God Said No
I asked God to take away my pain.
God said, No. It is not for me to take away, but for you to give it up.
I asked God to make my handicapped child whole.
God said, No. His spirit is whole, his body is only temporary.
I asked God to grant me patience.
God said, No. Patience is a byproduct of tribulations it isn't granted, it is learned.
I asked God to give me happiness.
God said, No. I give you blessings. Happiness is up to you.
I asked God to spare me pain.
God said, No. Suffering draws you apart from worldly cares and brings you closer to me.
I asked God to make my spirit grow.
God said, No. You must grow on your own, but I will prune you to make you fruitful.
I asked God for all things that I might enjoy life.
God said, No. I will give you life, so that you may enjoy all things.
I ask God to help me LOVE others, as much as He loves me.
God said...Ahhhh, finally you have the idea.

CD,
I hadn't seen that one yet, so I copied and pasted it to an email to all my family and friends. Thank you for that touching poem.
It is a sad, but happy day for the apartment. Yes, I do believe that you were led to that house for that exact purpose. With this screwed up CS system, you, the actual victim, needs to play that system in any way you can. Don't feel guilty about it, cause it is for your children to be able to survive, with the added bonus of "giving it" to the OW!! You will make it!!

Tigger

cd,
I know you've probably already thought of this, but have you tried to sell the vehicle or get someone else to take over the payments? I use to do collections on auto's and know that the finance company would much rather someone, anyone to pay for that car. If you haven't tried to sell it, see what it's worth and try and talk the finance company into giving you an extension so that you have the time to sell it. I just hate to see you ruin your credit for about 7 yrs. for what might be an avoidable (additional) thorn in your side! You said that your Dad had bought your H a truck, would he be able to make the payments on your car, or some other relative?
I hope you can find some way to avoid this repo, but if not, know that you will be fine no matter what. I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me!!
Floored
[This message has been edited by floored (edited February 16, 2001).]

cd:
We were lucky enough to avoid the repo truck as a check arrived today in a timely manner (we were not expecting it!) The Lord does provide.
The thing that gripes me is that you are loosing a car you really like because of the OW/OC situation. Floored had a good suggestion about selling the vehicle..is that a possibility?
Sometimes it seems like a never ending string of sacrifices...hard to swallow when you aren't responsible for this yet you are the one who has to go without.
If I were Queen, I would mandate that every OW who had OC with a MM, receive a monthly amount not to exceed $200. Out of that $200, she would be forced to pay the BS a monthly fee of $100 penalty for stealing DNA. If it were proved a deliberate evil act, OW would get nothing and be forced to allow a two parent family to adopt OC because it would prove she is immoral. If I were Queen....I bet there are multitudes out there who are glad I am not. Hahahaha
Catnip =^^=

To all,
It's too late to sell the car. We did try, but now the loan is two months overdue. The bank is out of patience and we are out of money, so that's that, I guess. Thanks anyway for writing with the suggestion.
Catnip,
I will be the first to sing, "God save Queen Catnip." Meantime, I will practice my curtsey.
