I am going to cover one topic in this post. I think that any adult referring to a child as a [censored] or ILLIGITIMATE needs to check what century we are in. Children are not [censored] or ILLIGITIMATE only parents who abandon their responsibilities. Every child is ligitimate. The [censored] is the mother or father who doesn't live up to their responsibilities. I think it is a sad statement on those of you who reffered to children as [censored] or ILLIGITIMATE in their posts. I hope one day you all will get through your pain and realize it's not the OTHER CHILD you should be angry at it is YOUR husband and the other woman.

The words "[censored]" and "illegitimate" are words that refer to a chld born out of wedlock. Plain and simple. It seems to me that YOU are the one giving them a negative connotation. Look them up in a dictionary.<P>The only reason that you find the word "[censored]" offensive is because way back when our country as a whole had morals, calling someone a "[censored]" was considered the highest of insults. As such, "[censored]" became, in effect, a "cussing" word. But that doesn't change the true meaning of the word. Indeed, any child who is born with unmarried parents IS a [censored], just as any female dog is a *****. <P>Consider this: YOU are the one arguing that being called a "[censored]" or "illegitimate child" is insulting. YOU are the one, therefore, saying that there is something wrong with being born to unwed parents. If you didn't secretly believe that being a [censored] child was cause for pity/humiliation, you wouldn't find anything wrong with the term. It is a straightforward word with a straightforward definition.<P>cd

It is still and insult and just plain wrong to refer to a child as a [censored]. And I think most of you know that.
