Please help me! My husband and I have just begun our marriage, we lived together for two years before we got married and everything was fine. Just before the wedding he started to pick fights, etc. He has just recently gotten a new job where he works about 80 hours a week. First things were fine, then he didn't want to touch me, I felt like I irritated him all the time. We had a long talk where I was supposed to tell him how I needed affection and he dropped the bomb - he just wants to be alone, I don't know him, he's been hiding himself from me for three years. I'm a great wife, the best, blah, blah, blah. He says he will try with me to work things out, but he doesn't act like he thinks the outcome will be positive. We are not religious, which I hope is all right for me to even be posting here, and he flat out refuses to go to counseling (we went a long time ago and he hated it).
I am so in love with my husband and this is just ripping my heart out! What should I do? Why does he want to be alone? I told him I would stay at a girlfriends house for a week where he wouldn't have to call me or see me, hoping that he will start to miss me. Please give me any advice, I need all I can get. I don't want a divorce...
Thank you so much for your ear and your advice!

NewMrs, I'm sorry no one has responded here, yet. This is not a very active forum, so you may want to post in a forum that gets more traffic (i.e. Emotional Needs). First off, please visit the new member thread as it will help you utilize this web site to get the best possible results for your marriage. After reading through the relevant material linked throughout that thread (make sure to read the Basic Concepts!), repost your situation one of the busier forums. Good luck...hang in there! Smile

obviously, something is bothering you husband. working 80 hours a week can take a lot out of man or woman. i don't know if that what's bothering him or not, but why don't you try to talk with him. ask him what he's got on his mind and what you can do to make him feel more comfortable and relaxed. open communication is one of the major keys to a successful relationship.
