Nope. On Effexor. I skipped my dosage one day and i was so sick I thought I was going to die. They say it isn't addictive, but that your body doesn't like the reduction in
Serotonin. My advice is don't do this w/o your doctor's help. Go slowly and don't step down to the next level until you are comfortable again at your current level.

blue00,
I was scanning the forum and came accross your post. Bare with me, it has been a ruff night for me tonight.
I was on paxil shortly after I gave birth to my daughter. My doctor put me on paxil because I was depressed having suspected my husband having an affair. (later I found out my suspicions were true.) Anyway.... I was on 20mg as well. Although it took the edge off my anixioty attaches. I am the type of person that doesn't like to take medication unless I despraratly have to. My concrens were with breast feeding. My doctor assured me that it was ok. I have to go along with Mrs. Job's advice you should get your doctors advice. I had missed a day here and there and I had the worst headache and felt sick to my stomach, dizziness and had the shakes. It SUCKED! excuse my language. After discussing with my doctor that I had a hard time taking medication period, and that I wanted to wien off of paxil. I was then down to 10mg. and I would feel the same things if I would forget to take it. I was in such a fog about my husbands affair and just having my first child that I was only trying to focus on my daughter. I didn't want to be druged up for that. To me it was a bandaid over a deep wound that needed to be healed. Finally I said the heck with this and stopped all together. WRONG MOVE on my part. After 2 days of not taking Paxil I had to deal with the withdrawl it lasted about a week or two. It sucked having a constant headache. I am so stubborn when it comes to medications that may or may not be unnecessary that I would not even go down to a lower dose. I know I was stupid but I all I wanted to do at that time was to enjoy my beautiful, wonderful daughter. My Husband at the time was calling it "Nut Medicine" and that right there made me say. "I don't need your S**t anymore nor will I allow you to depress me and deprive me of my well being." That was one of my many reasons in stopping. So, if you are taking paxil while you are pregnant, DEFINATE ADVICE, MAKE SURE YOU HAVE DR. SUPERVISION!!!! I couldn't imagine going though the withdrawls I went through while I was pregnant. Hope all is well with you and your child.
:0)
JB

Hey blue,
Serum levels of these meds change slowly, you must taper off under a Dr.s supervision. Also, the effects of these drugs are subtle, sometimes you don't even know it's helping until you stop taking it!!
Why are you taking yourself of medication?
God bless you,
------------------
Gregg

Yes, I am on Paxil too...as of this past week. I am ALSO taking Serazone...another anti-depressant. Let me just TELL you how much it SUCKS (sorry) to be on TWO pills! I feel like I should stage my own one woman version of "One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest"!
I have missed pills here and there as well and when I start taking them again, even after missing ONE DAY, I get sick and dizzy...oh it's awful! Must remember to take meds!
~Irish
