I have been racking my brain trying to remember who was from Houston area. I know Texasgirl has family here..they allright? But I remember someone else lived here somewhere and I just wanted to make sure everyone was ok.

We are high and dry in my neighborhood. Of course people within 5-10 miles are still sweeping water out of their homes. I have never been happier to live in a second story apartment in my life !

However, to answer your question for the wider world of MB forums, I am for one. We're in W. Houston, and escaped the worst of the rain.
Then there's out of the fog (on D/D these days), I haven't seen if she's posted lately. Sing (mostly GQ and recovery) is from here, has been living in Singapore (thus the name) and came back for the summer just in time to almost get stuck on her way from the airport. I've come across a few others, such as Dead Inside, who used to post on Recovery, but can't think of any others at the moment who are currently active.
I'm glad you're ok. At least it wasn't a hurricane!
Steve

I knew there was someone else, it's sobelle. She mostly posts on GQ and Recovery, I think. I'll have to check if she's said anything since the floods.
Steve

Thanks for asking. My brother's house in central Houston, I think, they had just moved in the week before, had 3 feet of water in the house. Not sure if insurance will cover contents, but will cover house. They moved into a 3rd floor apt this week. Except for emotional losses, they are fine. No one else in my extended family affected. Again, thanks for remembering.
Texasgirl.

TxGrl,
Gosh I am sorry it hit your B's house. That has to be frustrating to buy a house and then have this. Still it can always be worse. I am so glad to hear so far everyone weathered the storm. We were a little frightened at one point, trying to figure out how to get us and kids on the roof if need be, but thank The Lord, it didnt come to that for us. So many people's lives have been devasted. Prayers to all..
Love
bw
