Hello all,
Had counseling again with husband. WOW!!! we are finally making headway. It was the most relaxed and honest we've been together. It is strange because the night before we had an argument about money and I felt that I would never get anywhere if he was still making everything a martyr contest. And he's been reading the book the counselor recommended!! It's called The Passionate Marriage and I recommend it to anyone who's middle aged (not that I like to think of myself that way but...)and has been married a long time. I got to counseling and he was sitting in his jeep so engrossed in the book he didn't even hear me walk up. Of course I noticed that he was about 3/4 of the way through it YEA!!!
We are coming to the point where I am beginning to believe that he is coming to counseling NOT just because his life is so difficult now but because he wants to give us a chance (I still have my weak paranoid moments though) One of our bigger problems is that I am more of a take charge person and he is a baby steps person. I just have to sit back and let himj take his baby steps (thank you again Terri). He made it clear that his relationship with OW is only platonic but he does want to be involved with OC. After counseling I took him out for his birthday. We had a very nice time and I even asked what was the baby like and he told me and I said if we got back together could we have weekend visitation and he said he thought the OW would welcome it (remember she's 20). We also talked about how both our families dissed eachy of us to each other and we'd have to work on that. AND he said he would consider leaving the store he was in if the opportunity came up.
First time he's ever said that!!! Thank heaven for Plan B!!!
It's always good to hear good news (Zebrababy I'll be posting to you later on I was SO happy to read your post!!)
Fondly,
Kris

Kris,
Isn't it great to feel progress. Oh my how we BS's long for the feeling of forward motion. It's such a relief on the heart and soul to know that there's a light at the end of the tunnel. But I know the longer you are in the dark the brighter that light shines.
My husband is so much like yours. He is a baby step person too. He thinks that time heals everything and always says we will be married forever so why rush the process. I hate that. I see every moment together as precious and hated that we couldn't be right at that very second.
I suppose had I shared my situation Terri would have given me the same advice she gave you. See what I get for not sharing! LOL.
Again sweetie, I'm sooo very happy for your progress. Keep you eye on the prize too. It's coming... you'll be ready for it!
Z.
------------------
Zebra Baby ...
Lord, give me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference.

Another smile that's too big to describe here! I am SO glad to hear this news! And I'm happy to have helped in any tiny way.
![[Linked Image from marriagebuilders.com]](http://www.marriagebuilders.com/forum/images/icons/grin.gif)

------------------
terri
Courage
Whatever course you decide upon,
there is always someone to tell you
that you are wrong.
There are always difficulties arising
which tempt you to believe that your
critics are right.
To map out a course of action
and follow it to an end
requires courage.
Ralph Waldo Emerson
