Hey everyone. I just got off the phone with my SIL(married to H's oldest brother) and she had some stuff to talk to me about. To make a long story short, she has a cousin who is due in about 3 weeks who is trying to give the baby up for adoption. The need for prayer is that the father of the baby is trying to fight her on the adoption, but is a drug adict, has a warrant out for his arrest for stealing from the police impound, and has a restraining order out on him by the cousin. He says that he doesn't want her to give the baby up for adoption, but won't help raise the baby. Now, this cousin was in a serious accident a while ago, and has many physical and mental problems. She is trying to do what is best for the baby, since she doesn't feel capable of raising this baby on her own.
My second request is for my parents. As you may recall, I had requested before about their mission trip in Mexico, and that my mother was having problems with her throat. Well, she has continued to have those problems, and the doctor has now recommended they go back home. They really don't want to leave their students, but have tickets exchanged for July 24th. Pray that they have a safe trip back home, and that Mom's throat problems are healed. I am not sure what the problem is, exactly.
Finally, my third request is that my H's ship is leaving July 23rd for a month and a half for workups before the 6 month deployment in Oct. It will be the longest we have been apart since D-day a year ago.
I appreciate the prayers and continued support.
Love,
Tigger

You've got my support and will be in my prayers, Tigger. I know the separation will be hard on both of you but with your renewed commitment to each other, you might have fun mailing each other mushy love letters.
Be sure to make a memorable evening for just the two of you before he leaves so he has a memory of you while he is gone...and a yearning to get back to you as quickly as possible.
The cousin is making a wonderful and unselfish decision for her child. I'll pray she receives a lot of comfort from above to get her through the rough spots...and that her addicted boyfriend will come to the conclusion that he has nothing to offer this child but a lifetime of strife and a possiblity of history repeating itself if he is in the child's life. No one would want that, probably not even he would if he had a moment of clarity and thought about it without thinking of himself. Sometimes people don't think things through and use their brains, instead they knee jerk decisions, bad ones, on emotion.
And for Mom, I hope that it is nothing serious and she'll recover quickly once she's stateside and in the care of a good doctor.
Prayers
catnip =^^=

Tigger,
I will keep you in prayer. In fact, I am starting a prayer journal today so I can keep track of all I am supposed to be holding in prayer.
I know that I hated deployments and even more I hated the miserable workup periods. I just somehow used to expect that since they were about to rip you and H apart for 6 months the least they could do is let you have the last couple of months alone in peace.
Do you guys argue a lot before deployment? We used to then a psychologist said that couples argue a lot before a long separation because it is easier to separate when you are angry. Also stress is very high during that predeployment period.
Husband did 9 years of active duty and then retired from Navy Reserves in April 1999. Yeah! Done! Been there, done that! People now ask how I can handle the amount of travel he does in sales and I say "Oh, that's easy, let me tell you about our Navy days..." [Linked Image from marriagebuilders.com] I prefer his current one week gone, one week home type of schedule. It is not that we get more time together than we did when he was in the Navy, but right now the travel is just enough that I can get a project of my own done after work (like painting a room) and then Voila! he's back home again.
MJ

Thank you all who are praying for me and my family. I just love the fact that I can come to you all with any thing that is on my mind for prayer.
Now, specifically to Mrs J, a sister Navy Wife:
My H has been in almost 13 yrs. Yes, we do tend to argue more, but it is usually the 2-3 weeks before they leave. We know that we are just emotional, and the stupid things get to us easier than they used to. This just might be his last deployment. H is trying to work the system, like he does so well, and get on a pre-com in the first phase, then retire off of shore duty. Or, he is going to go back to recruiting, then switch to career recruiter so he can avoid sea duty again. Of course, when the decision time for that comes around, I will be asking for prayer again [Linked Image from marriagebuilders.com]
Again, thank you all for your suppot and prayers!
Love,
Tigger
PS If there are any type-o's Abbi was helping me this morning, and I was typing ine handed, so please forgive [Linked Image from marriagebuilders.com]

Dear Tigger,
I will remember all of your special needs in my prayers. I will pray that the time will speed by during the time while your H is away. Abbi will fill some of the lonely hours as a constant reminder of you and your H's re-commitment and love.
I will pray that the red tape will clear and the baby will be adopted by a wonderful family where she will bring them years of joy.
And, I will pray that your mom can be easily treated for her throat ailment. My own mother suffered for years with polyps of the throat. They had to be surgically removed every few years and they would grow back. However, she never suffered any ill effects except not being able to talk for a few days after the surgery. Try not to worry too much.
Prayers for them all.
love,
heavenly
love,
heavenly
