Whatif,
thanks for asking. I have to say thanks also to every last one of you that thought about us and prayed for us on Saturday. The visit went very well. My husband and I had the opportunity to play and interact with the baby without too much involvement with her mother. She was there, but more in a 'subject matter expert' role than in an overbearing 'my way or the highway' kind of role.
The visit almost didn't take place because the ride put her to sleep. Just as we were about to load up and put it off another week she woke up. She was a little disoriented at first but then her biological mother (sounds crass, but I have difficulty refering to her as anything else sometimes) gave her a toy she was familiar with and she became a little easier to get along with. We played and had as much fun as possible for about 1 hour and then we decided it was time to go.
We'll probably set up 1 or two more visits and then maybe begin unsupervised visitation by September.
Thanks again to everyone who thought of us. It's true that there's strength in numbers because I know I drew on the strength of the women and men on this board that have 'been there and done that' with dignity and class.
Blessings to you all!
