WooHoo Mrs. Job ! I am so happy for you !
But... may I say something here. I have Hep C, I just finished a year of combo treatment for it. This was my second round, round one was almost 2 years of interferon alone. While it is not impossible to get Hep C sexually, Unless there is bleeding and or open wounds of some sort going on, it is improbable .
Hep C is spread by blood to blood transfer, I have never heard of a proven case of sexual transferance of Hep C, in the cases that both parties in a couple have it there is usually another explaination. Now Hep. B is a total different story.
As far as we know I have had this disease for between 15 and 22 years. My h does not and will not use condoms even after we found out that I am HCV positive, neither he or my 20 year old son have it.
I'm not trying to be rude with you, in fact I wish everyone would be tested for Hep C, I don't care why they are tested as long as they are. Thousands upon thousands have it and don't know. But people tend to be afraid enough of those of us who have this without thinking that it is easily spread sexually. If you want to lern more about Hepatitis you can learn about all the different types at http://hepatitis-central.com/
I"m not saying don't be cautious or don't protect yourself. I'm saying don't be terrified about C.
BTW, I am in remission now and have lots of hope that it will stay that way. At this point there is no cure for Hep C.

Hi Deb,
I am so sorry that you have Hep C. I did think that sexual transmission was a major form of transmission. I guess I will need to learn more.
I have complete a Hep A vaccine and have completed the Hep B series. It is strongly recommended for anyone who adopts internationally and is going to a foreign country for an extended stay. It was no big deal to get the Hep B series and I am lucky in that my insurance paid for it. Our family doctor feels that it is one of the best things that you can do to improve your chances at a long life.
So I urge others to think about vaccinations that have come out since we were children.
MJ
