I just wanted to let you all know that things are also on alert here. Sailorman is being sent out to patrol a 2 mile radius of the island. Please keep them in prayer as well as those who you are already praying for.
Thank you,
Tigger

We ask you Lord to watch over Sailorman and all of our military abroad and here in the US. We ask you to comfort the families of the victims, that they feel your presence and love during this most difficult time. Help our President w/knowledge of what to do and may it be of your works. In Jesus's name. Amen.
love
Debi
------------------
Imagine....

We are continually praying for all our armed forces, those who lost their lives, those who knew and loved those who lost their lives, those who are injured,our brave heros who have stepped up to the call to rescue and give blood, and our government. God Bless America.
Those who live in these areas please if you can let us know you are ok. Special prayers for you...

Tigger,
I love the Navy hymn. I don't know if it moves you the way it moves me, but I can't hear it without getting weepy (especially the additional verse about pilots as Mr. Job flew for the Navy for 18 years).
I can't think of a more appropriate prayer for Sailorman than the hymn dedicated to those who serve in the Navy.
Love and prayers,
Mrs. Job
---------------
Eternal Father, strong to save,
Whose arm hath bound the restless wave,
Who biddest the mighty ocean deep
Its own appointed limits keep;
Oh, hear us when we cry to Thee,
For those in peril on the sea!
O Christ! Whose voice the waters heard
And hushed their raging at Thy Word,
Who walked on the foaming deep,
And calm amidst its rage didst sleep;
Oh, hear us when we cry to Thee,
For those in peril on the sea!
Most Holy Spirit! Who didst brood
Upon the chaos dark and rude,
And bid its angry tumult cease,
And give, for wild confusion, peace;
Oh, hear us when we cry to Thee,
For those in peril on the sea!
O Trinity of love and power!
Our family shield in danger's hour;
From rock and tempest, fire and foe,
Protect us wheresoever we go;
Thus evermore shall rise to Thee
Glad hymns of praise from land and sea.
Alternate verses:
Lord, guard and guide the men who fly
Though the great spaces in the sky.
Be with them always in the air,
In darkening storms or sunlight fair;
Oh, hear us when we lift our prayer,
For those in peril in the air!
Aloft in solitudes of space,
Uphold them with Thy saving grace.
Thou Who supports with tender might
The balanced birds in all their flight.
Lord, if the tempered winds be near,
That, having Thee, they know now fear.
Mary C. D. Hamilton (1915)
Eternal Father, Lord of hosts,
Watch over the men who guard our coasts.
Protect them from the raging seas
And give them light and life and peace.
Grant them from Thy great throne above
The shield and shelter of Thy love.
Author unknown
God, Who dost still the restless foam,
Protect the ones we love at home.
Provide that they should always be
By Thine own grace both safe and free.
O Father, hear us when we pray
For those we love so far away.
Hugh Taylor (date unknown)

Thank you all for your prayer support for us, and for those others who are patroling the areas here, on the mainland and those away from home. I just wanted to keep everyone updated to our situation. On the news, they have listed the names of the ships here that are patroling these waters. I can't remember the names, but there are about 15 ships still deployed, Sailorman's ship is still one of them. I am assuming that they have been told not to use their cell phones, for security reasons, and that is why I have not heard from my H at this time. I also do not know if they will be pulling in to port for change of clothes, or when this deployment will end. Nothing was speculated on the news as to such dates either.
Thank you Mrs Job for the Navy Hymn. I had forgotten it. Sailorman was in the choir during bootcamp, and that was the first song they sang at the graduation, and I could hear them singing it as I read the words you typed for all to read. Yes, it brought tears to my eyes. Thank you again.
Broken-wings,
Yes, Please, those of you who live in on near these areas, please let us know if you are ok as soon as you get a chance.
I will continue to keep all those who have suffered, directly especially, in my prayers.
Thank you all again,
Love,
Tigger

A short update. I got an email from Sailorman last night. He says that they are all doing well, patroling the waters off Oahu, and to pray for all those involved in this horrible tragedy. We still have no idea when he will be coming back home, so pray for our older 2 children. So far, they are dealing with this quite well.
Thank you again for your support.
Love,
Tigger

Hey guys. Please now add me and the kids to this prayer. Sailorman is back in port, but I will be lucky if I see him before Thurs! This is getting to be difficult. As of now, they have cancelled any and all leave, and who knows if they will be leaving again! I am just trying to deal with this unexpected turn of events, and it seems so piddly compared to what those who lost family members are going through, but I can't help feeling so frustrated! He hadn't been home a full week, after being gone for 6 and a half weeks! I haven't told the kids yet, since I don't want to deal with that right now.
Thanks guys,
Tigger

Father God I do pray that you be with trigger and her family may your peace rest on them in this time of unrest. I also lift up sailorman to your protection and keeping, I ask that you bring him home safe and even more commited to his family than ever before. May Your peace rest on all those associated with our armed forces and those who have already lost loved ones, we put our trust and faith in You our heavenly Father. Lead and guide our country, in Jesus name, amen.

tigger,
as another active duty military wife, my prayers are not only with the families of the deceased but with you and all our military at this most stressful of times...
some of the military wives where I live are leaving to be with their families but others of us find it comforting to be surrounded by those who truly understand what it is to have your spouse heading into danger zones.
Godbless,
J
