My neighbor and her girls are coming over in about half an hour to do this. Her H is on a sub that left this summer, so she is also concerned on how this will affect him.
We were talking earlier, and we feel sort of out of the loop with the news and stuff. We get the news, but there is nothing about us here, other than the people who ended up stranded here. There has been a lot of support of the victims of this tragedy, including about 8 natives who are either unaccounted for, or were on one of the hijacked planes. They had a memorial service that was aired on TV last night at Punchbowl that was very emotional. There was a guy that didn't go in to work today, lost his days worth of pay, just to stand on an overpass to wave a large American flag to show his support.
I haven't left the house until today, for fear of missing something about Sailorman's ship, or a phone call. I have talked to him a couple times since yesterday, and he is doing fine. Still keep him and his shipmates in your prayers. We are so far away from everything that is happening, but we are still feeling the fear that it could happen here as well.
Since I haven't left the house, I was unable to buy a flag for our house, so, I will be artistic, and draw one or two with the kids crayons for our windows. I wish there was more we could do to show our support. I feel so helpless in this situation, not knowing what to do, or how to show our support.
I will just keep praying for the President, the families of the victims, the rescuers, and the military, near and far.
Thank you for letting me get this all out. I don't mean to belittle what has happened, just needed to sound off.
Love,
Tigger
