Ok, quick update for those who didnt see it... ow emailed and apologized and is married and her H wants to adopt oc.<P>Ow sent the papers for my H to sign and we got the notice in the mailbox on Saturday that we had a certified letter to pick up. Our mailing address is different from our physical address. I went to go get it today. When I got there the lady tells me it is "restricted delivery" and that H will have to sign for it!! OMG I was sooooooo pissed!! I have not been this angry is a long long long time. I got home and called H screaming! He tells me to calm down and all the usual. He then says that he will not sign for it if it makes it better for me. I got off the phone and emailed ow and asked her if there was any particular reason that she sent it restricted delivery. She emailed me back and said that she didnt send it, "the _____county attorneys office did. She had nothing to do with it. Why? Whats up?"<BR>The last time we got something restricted delivery it was suit for cs. She can not exactly sue my H to give up his paternal rights. THese are papers for him to sign so that her H can adopt. Do you think the county attorney's office would send this restricted delivery if it is the signing away the rights paperwork? I am just paranoid that she came up with this scheme so that she could get our address. What if we just dont pick them up...what happens then if it is suit for cs? Are we pretty much already screwed since they have our address? I am just real paranoid and I want to know NOW, but apparently I can not sign for them [img]images/icons/mad.gif" border="0[/img] <P>I just really pissed me off. I felt like she was trying to go around me to get to H somehow. For obvious reasons I do not fully trust her. Where should we go from here? Or do we even have a choice at this point? BW,<P>Just a suggestion, could you go with your H to sign for the delivery? Then, he could hand it to you and you can open it. There is nothing that says you can't open it after he has signed for it. I don't think you should feel bad for being pissed about this. You have every right. As for the courts, they are probably just doing things the way they always do it. Since you are not, <I>in the courts eyes</I>, involved in this situation, they don't think you need to see this paperwork. Don't take it too personal.<P>Tigger

BW,<P>Don't start worrying just yet. It is commonplace for court documents to be sent restricted delivery. If OW filed a petition for H to give up parental rights and OC to be adopted, then the documents would have to be rec'd by H. This is serious business. If the county is involved in the process, they want to make sure they take every prudent step necessary, for the sake of the child. Don't let yourself get worked up. I Tigger had a good idea. Thanks Tigger and Ohbratti! I feel a little better now and I have heard from ow thru email and she said she had no idea they had sent it that way. I just got a little freaked out ya know. Sometimes when you go down this road and then a miracle comes along you sometimes expect it to go bad...does that make any sense? Thanks for replying so quickly. I appreciate it.
