I was wondering if you can share your experience with me about child support. What do you they take in consideration? And is it better not to involve the courts? Did you have a lawyer? Do you advise getting a lawyer? And how much you spend on the lawyer?
Right now the OW won't talk to my husband. We don't even know what her plans are. She had the baby almost three weeks ago and everytime my husband trys to call her just hangs up. As for now we are not doing anything because my husbans has is doubts that the OC is his. But she is going around saying to everyone it is his. My husband does not know what he wants right now. So her I am waiting for him to make a descision.

Dawn, The child support is diffrent from state to state. We didnt have a lawyer. At first she said she didnt want anything only to know if h wanted to see the baby. After she found out he had no interest then she came after him for support. We live in Michigan. When h got served with papers he called and told court he wanted DNA test done. Then after that was done and the test come back that he couldnt be excluded as being the father, we went in and signed papers agreeing to what the state guidelines where for this state. H had to pay for the blood test and back support from the day she filed for support. I think here its 20% of h gross. They cant include my income only his. The court garnished his income for the blood test, back support and then the child support. Every two yrs they review to see if ow gets a bigger prize for her slut actions. It seems to be diffrent in each state though. My h also didnt think the oc was his. I think thats a hope that alot of them have. She called our house when oc was 2 weeks old just wanted to know if my h wanted anything to do with baby. I think it was just one last stab at trying to distroy my family she thought because she had a boy it would make a diffrence. When that didnt work then she turned to the courts there more then willing to help ow harress us. Good luck hope things work out for you.

Dawn,
From my understanding and so far all this court stuff has invloved 3 different states, is that anything that comes from a court comes "restricted delivery" so therefore inly H can sign for it. Or the little pink card they leave has a place where he can authorize you to pick it up. I think then if he refuses itll be delivered via cop. Pretty positive on the first part and fairly sure on the second.
Love

Dawn,
In my state info came through regular mail. H was told to respond within 30 days or legal action would be taken. Including having him served by a sheriff. After the DNA results came in H and I went to State office and and he signed the CS agreement which is about 17% of his pay. He's also liable for 53% of all out of pocket child care expenses. Oc is also on H medical Insurance.
Unsure
