I was online with Sailorman(can't say from where), when I got a phone call from his brother. Sailorman's Uncle just had a massive heart attack this morning. All we know at this time is that they are going to try to do an angioplasty(sp), and if that doesn't work, they will have to do open heart surgery. My MIL is not at home, we assume she is at the hospital with her brother. Their father died of a heart attack in his early 50's, and Sailorman's uncle is in his mid to late 40's. Unfortunately, this is not something that they would send Sailorman home for. That is usually allowed only for immediate family. Pray for him, as he will not be able to get info too quickly once they get underway again. We do have email, but it can be very slow at times.
Thank you for your prayers ahead of time.
Tigger & Sailorman

tigger4jdt,
Is he at sea right now? If so you are right about them not letting him come home. I am in the Marine Corps, so I understand how hard it is.
Indy

Indy,
Yes, he is deployed right now. We have been in for 13 yrs, so I know all there is about stuff like this. It wasn't fun having to tell him about the phone call, but I felt it would be right, since he was at a place where he could call his brother and talk to him, and maybe even try his parents. The only other time I've had to do this is when his grandmother died 2 1/2 yrs ago.
Tigger

tigger4jdt,
You are right to tell him when he had the time to call home. I know that if I were out there I would like to call to see how he was doing. Is he out in the Gulf Area right now?
Indy

Just a quick update, and thanks for your prayers. I talked to my MIL last night, and she said that H's uncle came through the angioplasty fine, but there are 2 other arteries that are 85-95% clogged. The doctor's comment was that he had never seen arteries that clogged in a 46 yr old before. They will be doing a by-pass surgery within the week. I don't know if it will be a double by-pass or triple, or when the surgery will be. MIL said that she will keep me informed, so I can also keep Sailorman informed. Thank you for your continued prayers.
Tigger

Definitely I will send prayers your way. For both sailorman's uncle and sailorman, and also for you. How are you doing with the separation? It has to be tough on you. Anyway, you'll be in my thoughts and prayers.

Thank you all for your prayers and support.
Gem and CD,
Yes, things are tough right now. As I told Indy, they have changed the schedule, so now I have no idea where he is going to be. Of course, it isn't something that he can tell me on the phone, or in email. We are surviving though. We actually got to talk last night, and had been "chatting" in IM while he was at my cousin's house. That was really nice.
He called this morning, and we talked for quite a while about our future and where he wants to head next. There is so much that could happen with that while he is gone. It's another thing to pray about, since he is up for orders starting in Jan. He will have to decide by late April what he wants to do next. Pray that the Lord leads us in the right direction.
I really appreciate all the prayers! I try not to be all about me, and pray for all on this board. Sometimes it's hard, but I still do it
CD, how are things going with Darling?
Gem, I forget, when's the wedding, and the grandbaby due?
Twiisty and Unsure, how are you two doing? I hope that all is well, or that you are getting there.
Love,
Tigger

Just got a call from FIL. Sailorman's uncle is going to be released from the hospital by tomorrow. They are going to try to avoid any further surgeries by treating him with medication. They gave him meds to thin his blood, and are just monotoring him to be sure there are enough platelets before they let him go home. He is in good spirits.
Thank you all for your continued prayers.
Tigger

Thank you so much Catnip. We are doing pretty well. I've had quite a few calls from Sailorman, when he is able, and we also have email. The kids enjoy taking a link off the chain every night, or in the morning. And Abbi is definately keeping me busy. She will probably be walking by Christmas.
I hope you are doing well. How did your job hunting go? I think that's what I read on another thread.
Love,
Tigger

Well, Tigger. I received a phone call at 3:30 this afternoon from the company I have had two interviews with and...they offered me the job!!! I can't believe it...it is so perfect for me. Monday thru Firday, 8AM to 5 PM, benefits like crazy and the pay is very good. The job itself is interesting and fun, doing all the stuff I did for my own company for the past ten years, so I will be able to do their stuff in my sleep. I am feeling very blessed today. Thanks for asking, Tigger...you're the first to know! I can't believe Abbi will be walking by Christmas already. It seems as if she were just born! I'm so glad you and Sailorman are in constant contact...it helps ease his lonliness for you, too.
God bless, Tigger
Love
Catnip =^^=
