I know it is probably different from state to state, but most of you girls here are up on the laws of child support. My H got a call today saying that his other child of whom he pays child support will not graduate until 2003 but he turns 18 at the end of this month. They are saying that according to NH law where the boy lives that my H is responsible for child support until he finishes high school. I guess he failed a couple of times. I dont know. Any feedback you can give will be appreciated. Thanks Unicorn

Unicorn,
Well, I have read, over the past year, on this board that it does vary from state to state, but the general rule of thumb is between 18 and 21 yrs of age. Your best bet is to look into the state laws for CS orders for NH. I wish you luck in finding your answers.
Tigger

Unicorn in our state it is until 18th birthday but it can be longer because it's also upon graduation AFTER 18...So if he has a few years to be in school it usually means support continues. love Debi

I believe in my state it is as long as they are in high school and even college. However, if the children leave the home then cs stops. For instance if they move out at 17 to be on thier own.
I wonder what will happen when H's children get pregnant at a young age. I can see that happening with them. Sadly, that's the behavior they have been shown to be acceptable. Their mom has had multiple chldren with multiple fathers begining at a young age.
It does vary from state to state. I agree, check with the state CS has been ordered from.
Take care, Why
