DocsGirl,
That's a great start. Good for you I remember how good it felt when I was able to have even one good day. When my h seen that I was going to make it he tried even harder to keep the good days coming. In time them days will become weeks and then a month will go by and yeeee haaaa you'll see your going to make it. Congratulations lets celebrate.
with love flowerseed

Docsgirl,
Keep up the positive attitude! Did you know that it takes more muscles to frown than it does to smile? And it's healthy for you to laugh? And, the more you smile at others, the more they want to smile back? It does get better, and it's worth it in the long run!
Love,
Tigger

Three good days in a row are a remarkable thing so early into discovery...I'm impressed. It took me nearly two years to have even one good day. So, what's your secret for the positive attitude? Are you just one of those easy going types that don't take someone else's offenses personal?
The whole thing with my husband's fling was that I took the entire thing very, very personally. I think my attitude hampered my healing. His mental illness didn't help either.
Doc's Girl, you're one awesome chick. Whatever you're doing, it's working for you. Keep doing it!
Catnip =^^=

Ok..now is where I step up and say something really profound....NOT...LOL
Catnip...
there is no secret...it's just what you determine a good day to be
for me it's a day where I can still find some sort of enjoyment in my life..where Doc's fling isnt all consuming..
a good day is where the OW is showing her true colors and he see's it and acknowledges it

I still have moments ...even on a good day..but i will not let this run my life
and FYI
WE ARE ALL AWESOME CHICKS!!!!!!!
peace

But, Doc's Girl...I really want to know how you are able to attain this kind of attitude so early in the game. I was powerless to control my emotions and saw absolutely nothing wonderful in life for the first year, and if I did, it was fleeting. While I am way past that now, it took me so incredibly long to get through the pain.
Still impressed.
Catnip =^^=

This is so far from being ok for me...I'm still hurt, I'm mad, and I still want to know why...but...
like I stated it's all about what you personally determine a good day to be. A good day for me is a day with no tears. A day where I'm not LBustin Doc's butt all over creation. Flowerseed said it, when Doc see's that I'm having a good day, he goes out of his way for me to make it happen again.
It's taken me a lot of years and some real rocky times to have a positive attitude. In my 20 and 30's this would have destroyed me completely. In my 40's I have a more positive attitude about myself. Life is about choices...I've choosen to make this work.
I'm also a Dr. Phil junkie...yesterday on Oprah, and this is not a direct quote , just my own recollection...you either contribute to a relationship, or you contaminate a relationship
My choice...to contribute, or try to

Peace and Hugs!

Oh!!!! I just LOVE Dr. Phil. I want to hang out with him, go to dinner with him and his family, to sit at his feet like a student with a Guru on top of a mountain contemplating the Universe.
Oh yes, Dr. Phil. Dontcha just love him? I like it when he gets kind of tough and no nonsense. He has no facades and you know exactly what the drill is because he is so direct. God, I like that.
When does his new show debut?
And as for attitude, you're absolutely right. Attitude is everything. Once I got past the intense grief, I was able to readjust my attitude somewhat, little by little, every day. And it does get better as time goes by.
Since Doc is so proactive in working to keep you happy and is positively reinforced when he sees how effective his kindness is, it sounds like the two of you have the right RX for recovery.
Have Doc write RX's for all the Waywards here.
Catnip =^^=
[ March 06, 2002: Message edited by: catnip ]
