Well...we had the EEG done on Weds...and scheduled a follow-up with her pediatrician for this upcoming Weds and Lord willing we will have results.
Dinobon seemed to have some "activity" while the EEG is going on, but the technician/Doctor who performed the test wasn't going to give me a diagnosis...she did say, however, that "there's enough on the test to make a diagnosis".
Dinobon seemed to not have anymore seizures since...but the Principal and Her teacher are adament that this kind of thing cannot be faked...so we shall see what we shall see...
I'm prepared for anything...dealing with dinobon has been an adventure in itself. (as is dealing with Mr. "T"...but that's a WHOLE other story...snicker snicker)
Things are ok with us all, despite this latest bump in the road...Bubba will be 1 on 04/12 which is also stacia's court date...(praying for you stacia!)
I'll be catching up on the threads here later tonight...so if I missed anybody, I will respond later...thanks to all y'all who e-mailed me and expressed thoughts and prayers...
Hugs and prayers to y'all too,
Twiisty

I know this is nerve-wracking, but just be strong in the Lord and He will get you all through this difficult time.

Dinobon has an abnormal EEG and will be having an MRI done tomorrow.
We did some blood work to check her lithium level and she will be seeing a pediatric neurologist next Tuesday. The EEG showed some types of seizures and the Doc said to not to give her adderall until we can determine if the meds are causing the seizures or not.
Thanks for the prayers and encouragement...I know God is in control and I rest in Him.
Amazingly...I'm calm.
Hugs to y'all..

Dear Twisty,
I am assuming that Dinoban is your daughter? How old is she and how are things going? When do you get the MRI?
A child had a seizure on the plane home from Russia. It may have been the child's first seizure as the parents had no medication. Mr. J takes klonopin for panic disorder. It is an anti-seizure medication. There was a doctor on the plane who made a suspension using Mr. J's medication and stopped the seizure.
Hope your daughter is alright. You do seem amazingly calm.
MJ

Thanks to all who prayed for me and dinobon and thanks for the hugs and well wishes in e-mails and IM's...
Dinobon's MRI came out fine...no anomolys and her lithium level came back clean...although low...(I never upped her dosage for fear of giving her too much...looks like I can give her her full dosage)...we have an appointment with the pediatric neurologist on Tues. and we go from here...no more seizures so I thank God for that...
I miss y'all and can't wait to catch up on the latest here on the board...hope everyone is doing well...I think about y'all often.
Mr. "T" and the girls and Bubba and I will be going to a crawfish boil tomorrow...should be interesting...my bubba will be one on 04/12...he's growing up sooooo fast...waaaaahhhhh

He's trying sooo hard to walk.
We are continuing to do well...trying to learn new ways of conflict resolution, but that's our MC's job to help us learn new ways to communicate...Our D-Day is coming up soon...(D-Day is 05/01)...Mr. "T" is off that day and we plan to do something fun that day...
well....nuff bout us....catch y'all later...
Hugs and prayers to y'all...

MJ,

quote:
I am assuming that Dinoban is your daughter? How old is she and how are things going? When do you get the MRI?

Dinobon is my oldest daughter, she's 8, followed by Curly-top, she's 6 almost 7, then "mini-me"...she's 2 (she and OC are two weeks apart with OC being older by two weeks) and then Bubba (My son) will be one next week.
I'm glad to hear that your H's medication was able to help that poor child on the plane...how are things settling in with you? I think about you often...hope to hear more later...
Hugs and prayers,

Twiisty,
How's Dinobon doing? I hope things have been figured out, and that it's either some sort of fluke, or something that is easily taken care of! Looking forward to your update, and give Bubba a birthday hug and kiss from Abbi and me!
Love,
Tigger

Thanks Tigger.....Bubba enjoyed his hug and kiss and he's walking all over the place....he really started taking off today....whew......gonna have to fly to catch up with him and mini-me (2 years old).....ugh ugh ugh....but I wouldn't have it any other way...
As it stands, the pediatric neurologist says to keep dinobon off the adderall because it is known to cause some seizures when mixed with other medications...so she is going to get with dinobon's pyschiatrist and we are going to work out something else...we are really enjoying dinobon's mood swings as a result...(sarcasm intended...) but on the up side, it's manageable because we have the lithium...Spring always seem to bring out the manic in bi-polars...Pray for them!
catching up on the boards...some interesting stuff...Hugs and prayers to y'all and Tigger....girl....we gots to make an arrangement to chat sometimes...I seem to be missing everybody....
Twiisty

twisty,
thanks for setting me straight on the kids and their nicknames.
I knew that your daughter had bi-polar, but I didn't know that she was so young. Isn't it very unusual to have a diagnosis of bipolar so young?
Has she had big manic episodes? Is anyone else in the family bipolar?
Hugs,
MJ

Isn't it very unusual to have a diagnosis of bipolar so young?
Has she had big manic episodes? Is anyone else in the family bipolar?

MJ,
They are finding out more and more as time progresses and knowledge increases, that young children can be diagnosed with Bi-polar, especially when there is a history of it in the family, in our case, my ex-husband, his father and his grandfather and his sister have it...I had a very good talk with my ex-husband's wife the other day and she was extremely interested in what I had to say on bi-polarism...
My ex-hubby was not diagnosed with it, but he acts identical to our daughter, hence the "unofficial" dianosis on his part...sadly, I understand my ex-husband better now, by learning more about our daughter...
Dinobon has had more "rages" than "manic" episodes...from what I learned, children rage more and when they hit puberty, the manic situation manifests itself more prounounced.
A great book to read on bi-polar and children is called, "The Bi-polar child" by Dr. Demetris Papploas (spelled?) Reading that book was like reading part of my life with miss Dinobon.
She's such a lovely, creative and gifted child...but the bi-polar does put a great strain on even the most healthiest of marriages...I'm thankful that Mr. "T" is in it for the long haul...
Thanks for your interest...how are your precious boys and how is life going for you?
Hugs and prayers to you,
Twiisty
