As time grows short until the court date… We contacted our attorney via fax. She called back and asked to meet us yesterday afternoon. I left work early to be able to meet at the proposed time. Just prior to leaving the apartment to meet her, she called.
She had run into xOW’s attorney. He is no more ready to go to Trial than anyone else. And the DCS attorney that had been on this case has since left DCS… so now we have a new attorney to deal with from their side of this multi-faceted case.
The attorneys went before the Referee yesterday morning and explained to him the recent events and asked to keep the case on the docket for Friday but they wanted to use the time to try to come to a settlement or to figure out what is going on. <p>So, we are looking at a possible mediation on Friday. And knowing xOW, she will only make things difficult and drag this on and on… I am hoping for a similar outburst as UnSure’s TAH(which she has already done once before)… that way, her true colors come shining through, again. There will be no settlement… that has already been established. H is not going to withdraw his petition for custody and xOW is not going to give it to him… DeadLock… <p>If you can find it in your heart, please pray for our situation. Pray for the best outcome in this for Lil Bit. She is the most important part of this whole mess. <p>H and xOW made this mess. They are both to blame. Equally. No ifs, ands or buts. There is only ONE true innocent and that is Lil Bit.
I did not ask for this to happen to us. But I know that there is a small part of this that I have to take responsibility for. Communication may have been the key to prevention… but now that is water under the bridge. It is time to move FORWARD… time to pick up what we have and put it BACK together. We are one. H and I. We are together, much to the displeasure of xOW. We may not agree on all things… but we agree on this, Lil Bit is our main concern. And we are going to do what we can to insure that she is taken care of and protected. <p>I pray that nothing like what happened to xOW’s other child ever happens to our Lil Bit. And if we can prevent it, we will.
