Hello all.. thanks for the prayers and the well wishes.<p>Court went well… there was no mediation. We got to the courthouse early and waited to talk to our attorney. When we got to talk to her she showed us the DCS petition and asked us if there was anything else that we wanted to change. We made sure that Lil Bit’s birth date was corrected and noted that the accusations against both of us were unfounded.
Our attorney also added that all issues involved with, but not limited to; visitation, medical appointments and some other things between the parents would be dealt with in a motion to be filed later with the court. <p>So, now DCS/CPS is now out of the case. Their petition stated that the child “was” at risk of abuse and neglect at the time of the petition. Now, all that is left to take place is for all parties to sign the petition and have it filed with the court. But it is now out of their hands. <p>Nothing changes with custody. It is still JOINT! With H having 51.19% of the week!!!! <p>After court, xOW came up to me (stepping on my foot!! then apologizing) I was holding Lil Bit, and she tried to get her to come to her. It took a minute or two… but she did go to her. But then went directly to xOW’s mother! They kissed on her (she tried to pull away) and then said they had to go. She came right to me. No fussing, no crying. Just came right back to me.
What does that say to you? It tells me that she is not all that impressed with them. At least I know this little girl loves me enough to come right to me and watch the woman that gave birth to her walk away as if she was a stranger she met in Wal-Mart!<p>H feels like he lost today. I say he WON! It’s a Win situation. How many fathers, in situations like this, can say that they have MORE time with their child than the birth mother? Not many. He is blessed that he doesn’t have “standard” visitation… every other week… He has her EVERY week… and I think that is a MAJOR WIN!!!!<p>Anyway,
