Oh bummer! I missed the party but I like leftovers! And yes, that twinkie cake sounds SO GOOD right about now. I like tea with cream & sugar. (Don't gag! It's really tasty!)

BTDT
Welcome!!! What are you doing up at 3:45 AM prowling around the site? Can't sleep? No caffiene for you, Mon Ami.
Tomorrow is Tuesday and we all know what that means...time to par-tay. Tmorrow's theme will be "The Most Wonderful Memory You Have About Your Marriage"...the one we all relive over and over again, and share it here with all of us.
Everyone, bring an appetizer and post the recipe. I am serving drinks, both spiked and virgin, and a lot of smoothies. Got the blender out and starting with Margueritas to get us warmed up.
Thanks for reviving the thread, BTDT...let's see if we get any takers...it might just be you and me eating quesadillas and drinking ourselves stinky.

Hey, I'm a graveyard poster, remember? I probably should have a screen name of vampire or something like that... I normally sleep during the daytime!

Mom of 5, you are a greatly admired member of our little club, and frankly, I listen to every compassionate word you say!
So, what are you bringing to the party? Hot or cold appetizer? Dessert? Salad?
Music. We need good music...how about the all time greaatest party song by Steve Winwood..."So Glad You Made It?" or some Motown girl groups like Martha and the Vandellas singing "Dancing in the Streets" or "Nowhere to Run"...or how about some Introspective folk/soft rock music by Natalie Merchant or Joni Mitchell. I even have some Dwight Yokum (about as country as I can get) and some Dave Brubeck and Etta James if anyone likes the Blues. I have some classical and blue grass...big music lover, every kind.
What kind of music do you like and what CD are you bringing?

Homemade shortcake? Oh, is ther anything better this time of year? The strawberries are especially wonderful in May and June. I love the way they smell when they are really ripe and juicy and flavorful.
I made a pot of really wonderful coffee, rich and flavorful...creme? sugar?

It is a beautiful day here today, sunny, cool and crisp...wish it were warmer, though. I've thrown open all the windows anyway and put a log in the fireplace, brewing the coffee and making paper thin Swedish pancakes for the early birds with wild rice sausages.
Since I am on a lake, there are a lot of wood ducks and I see a heron standing in the water, motionless, waiting for an unsuspecting fish to swim by. A raccoon got into the birdfeeder over night and since the Baltimore Orioles are passing through right now, I have to put out another sliced orange with some grape jelly for them.
The music this morning is Sarah McLaughlin...a little sleepy and moody music, but party rock this early annoys me...that's something I have to gradually get into.
Welcome all of you...I am going to sit back and sip coffee and wait for the bell to ring.

Ding Dong....
Good Morning Catnip,
Being as how I seem to be one of the early birds, I thought I would bring some FRESH Krispy Kreme Doughnuts.
As I live close to one of the new stores here, I just had to bring them along. Chocolate covered, Lemon Filled, Blueberry Filled, Glazed… etc… etc…
OOOH…I forgot.. the flavor of the month… S’mores!!!!
I also brought a HUGE Thermos of Hot Chocolate… I am not a coffee drinker..
Toggling back and forth between work screens and the board... please excuse me if I step out often…
Thank you for the invitation.

GOOD MORNING CATNIP AND STACIA sorry to come so early but kids needed rides to school, and I feared if I went back home, husband would change his mind about doing the baby thing. haha he would rather fish. Last time he thought it would be easier to let her run around naked than to do the potty training thing. MEN
I brought Lemon Buttercups
2 cups all-purpose flour 1/4 teaspoon salt 1 cup (2 sticks) cold unsalted butter, cut into pieces 1/2 cup sour cream 1 egg yolk 8 ounces cream cheese, at room temperature 1 egg 1/2 cup sugar 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract 1 teaspoon freshly grated lemon zest Confectioners’ sugar In a mixer fitted with a paddle attachment, or using your fingers, combine the flour and salt in a large bowl. Add the butter and, using your fingertips, pinch the ingredients together into a sandy, crumbly mixture. In a mixer fitted with a paddle attachment (or using a hand mixer), mix the sour cream and egg yolk until very smooth. Add the flour mixture and mix until the dough comes together. The dough may feel a little dry. Form into a disk, wrap it in plastic wrap and chill at least 4 hours or overnight. In a bowl, mix the cream cheese, egg, sugar, vanilla and lemon zest. On a work surface thickly dusted with confectioners’ sugar, roll out the pastry to a squarish or rectangular shape, 1/8-inch thick. Using the tip of a sharp knife or a pizza cutter, cut into 3 by 3-inch squares. Place a teaspoon of filling in the center of each square. Lift up one square, gathering the center of the square around the filling into a cup. Hold it in the fingers of one hand. Use the fingers of your other hand to gently push the midpoints of the sides inward, so that the 4 corners become the points of the petals. The cookie will look like a flower that is opening. Place the cookie in a mini muffin cup. Repeat with the remaining squares and refrigerate 30 minutes.
Preheat the oven to 375 degrees. Bake until light golden brown, 25 to 30 minutes. Let cool in the pan on a wire rack.
Yield: About 24 cookies Prep Time: 5 minutes Cook Time: 45 minutes
Husband was not happy I took them with me, But I hope you all enjoy, OF course you know with all these goodies, none of us will want to make supper for our families this evening. catnip seeing as how we are so early if you would like to go get dressed for the day, stacia and I WILL get better aquainted and open the door for any other early birds.

Good Morning, Well I guess since Stacia beat me to Krispy Kreme, I will have to whip up some Snicker Apple Salad. 1 (8-ounce) Cool Whip 1 (8-ounce ) sour cream 6 apples, chopped 4 Snickers bars chopped ( can use more) Mix together, refrigerate and serve.
Will have my Pepsi One with me. The setting sounds heavenly, it's a chilly Iowa morning here with steam rolling off the pool, and two ducks sitting on the deck getting ready for their morning dip.
See you in a jiff.
Tina
[ May 21, 2002: Message edited by: Tina71 ]
[ May 21, 2002: Message edited by: Tina71 ]

Good Morning mo5 and Tina71….
Mo5, Yummy!!! Lemon! My fav! Tina, Snicker Apple Salad? Sounds like that is gonna be AWESOME!
I am really going to have to be careful… Can’t eat too much. I have an ob/gyn appt this afternoon.
Today is the dawn of a new day ladies… After the appointment, we will know when we can begin ttc again!
Say a prayer that the Dr will know what route we need to take. They should have the results of my blood work. And be able to tell me if I have PCOS or not.
