I have been reading about your plight. Please go to this site and read everything that you can:
GuidelineEconomics.com
The gentlemans email is RMRogers@mindspring.com. He will help you and he answers his email very quickly.
Because of him, Georgia has declared childsupport guidlines as unconstitutional, he gives you what you need to help your own child support case. I hope this helps you and you can relax and enjoy the rest of your pregnancy. Best to you and your family.
P.S. You really don't need to defend your position to anyone who's life is a total lie and who can't be honest.
Melissa

Melissa
I am going to check this out, too. I am planning to launch an attack against the state of NY, Nassau Family Court, especially, for their corrupt and arbitrary decisions and refusal to examine valid documentation and adjust CS and arrears accordingly and retroactively...hahaha...I have about as much a chance of success as a cat in a kennel of Rotweilers, but, nothing ventured, nothing gained.
Thanks so much for the information...truly, truly appreciated.
Catnip =^^=

Youo ladies are most welcome! It truly is a VERY helpful sight. Catnip, this information was used in front of the Georgia supreme court, who as I said in turn, declared the child support guidelines that are used to be absurd. It does not take $600.00 - over $1,000.00 per month to raise a child! This information is forcing the child support divisions to use true and proper methods, including counting ALL the tax incentives the custodial parent receives as part of their income and is forcing them to make sure that the Custodial parent pays the Non custodial parent their share of support when they have the child(ren) in their care, because they also have extra expenses when they have visits. NCP must also supply food, shelter, everything just as a CP does. This man knows what he is talking about. I am still reading and emailing him for information to use when my DH goes in for his review later this year with his exwife.
I just hope that the information really helps you guys here in these awful situations.
Much luck,
Melissa

Wow is all I have to say...
Oh yeah, and thank you.
Especially wonderful to read since my H and I are in the fabulous state of Georgia and would have fallen victim to the "unconstitutional" calculations for support.
I pray the Department of Human Resources looses it's appeal this summer and the new guildines will go into affect state wide. As it stands this judges ruling only applies in that judges circut district. (south Georgia).
thanks again for the info and hope, Z.
p.s. cat... if this lady could win...so could you.
do any of you who have read this decision think it's funny how it took a WOMAN to be victimized by the court for someone to listen? All these years fathers/men have been crying foul and no-one listened!

Zebra,
Your welcome, glad I could give the info to you all. I hope it helps everyone here (almost everyone)
Lucky for you to be in Georgia right now! The Dept. of Human Resources, is gov't, they talk in circles and don't really have a clue about what really goes on, this man can talk rings around them. Things, they are a changing. I don't think they will get to far in appeal. I can't believe they would go this far at such an expense for $500.00 a month from someone. Just shows you that they are all corrupt and nuts. I hope to see a tidal wave of change soon. Of course there will be people kicking, screaming and fighting the whole way, but fair is fair and right now it isn't. Did you guys know that the judges and childsupport agencies that decided YOUR fate with childsupport gets a kickback to their retirement fund? For every dollar they collect in childsupport, the Gov't gives them so much in return. It goes right into their retirement funds. I do alot of research on this crap! And I receive child support to, I still find it unfair.
And yes, isn't it amazing that it took one woman to have to pay an outrageous amount before some court stood up and took notice. It is pure sexual descrimination. Men have been crying foul for a long time, with every reason to.
Catnip, you go and fight them with everything you have, you are a fighter, lead the way.
Melissa

Mshermi,
Is this true:

quote:
Did you guys know that the judges and childsupport agencies that decided YOUR fate with childsupport gets a kickback to their retirement fund? For every dollar they collect in childsupport, the Gov't gives them so much in return.

Oh my God, that's like giving incentives to ignore what is just and fair.
I was sitting in CS enforcement agency's office today and read on the wall their "motto", I'll never forget the last one:
Growth Accountability PROFITABILITY
What the HeII is that all about????? Who's profits???
Jeez, I can't wait until this appeal is presented. I want to be in the court room to hear the arguements. I'm going to email that guy and see if I can attend.
Thanks again for the info. Z.
Fight CAT fight... call some young eager family law lawyer and give him the web site to look at. It might not even have to be your case... he may have someone else in the same situation that has the $ to pay for his services and he can use them as the tool to bring the issue before the courts.
Can't hurt.
[ May 16, 2002: Message edited by: zebrababy ]
[ May 16, 2002: Message edited by: zebrababy ]

You know what else is funny about that whole case?
This woman and man (ex husband and wife) agreed to no monitary support except for insurance. The state stuck their nose in their agreement and basically forced this woman into bankruptcy. All for a few lousey bucks that the H didn't need to raise his children.
Absolutely amazing that the government can extort money out of someone on behalf of a child who's custodial parent doesn't agree on the extortion and is in no way looking for the state for support.
I feel a tidal wave of change coming and who would have thunk it would have come in the deep south. Maybe Calif or NY, but not redneck, a$$backwards Georgia.
(i'm just kidding... I love living here!)
Z.

Zebra,
Yes it is very true, you read it on their own wall. It is part of their retirement funds, isn't that something? The more they collect, the more they get back from the gov't. I, like you, was stunned when I found that out.
I pray that this brings some serious changes. I know there are some people out there who deserve CS, all they can get and some crappy people out there who deserve to pay out the rear, but not in situations like these that are here, no way, no how. If things were different, these "accidental" pregnancies would do a serious decline. Like Catnip said, it should be based on a case by case basis, and done fair and right.
All people are supposed to be created equal, BUT, then you find situations like Babstr, and her children are treated totally unfair. I think if I were her, I would file a descrimination suit against the office that is coming after her DH on those grounds. No one should ever be told that their child doesn't matter because this one was here first-hogwash.
That site I gave you is just a wealth of info for people in situations that you have found yourselves to be in. I would email him to if I were you. I wish I could be there, but I am in Indiana. I plan on letting him know that he is my new hero. I am sooooo glad you guys are reading it and getting some fire in you ( not that you didn't have some already ), but it makes you want to stand up and say, NO MORE!
I hope you get to go to the courthouse and be there.
Best of luck!
Melissa
