My Wife and I have been together for 20 years. I suffered from depression for a good number of these years which was never diagnosed. My wife tended to hold her feelings. To make a long story short, I guess I was a misery to live with and it wore on her. Other things happend over the past two and a half years including my wife having an emotional affair. We seemed to get get back together and I thought things were better than ever. We probably should have sought counseling after that, but didn't. Now my wife has told me that she loves me but not in a romantic way...that she has no feelings for me this way. She is not involved with another person at this point. This may sound dumb, but can the hurt be so bad that someone cannot recapture those feelings of they decide to finally try? I guess I just need to hope.

There is a program called Retrovaille. Couples spend a weekend with each other and attend workshops, then return to their rooms to write in a special journal. The leaders of the workshops are couples who have restored their marriages. Search the mB site for posters who have attended.

The only couples who cannot benefit from Retrovaille, according to what I've read, are those where one partner is involved with an outside party (affair)

Some of the MBers have attended, have tried to attend, or know about it. Supposedly, the weekend can restore lost feelings.

Oh, and YOU! Get some treatment for your depression. Even if you don't restore your marriage, get healthy.

Good luck.
