MJ

You are certainly in my prayers and you hold a special place in my heart. You were one of the first one's to answer my pleas for help and you have been an inspiration to me and so many others.
Fight hard and know that there are others fighting with you.
God Bless

Dear MJ:

I prayed for you tonight - God WILL do what He has promised. Psalm 91 promises that not only will "God will satisfy you with a long life" but that you can "rest under the Shadow of the Almighty". He is a refuge and shelter in the time of storm...God is with you and will carry you through this!

My prayers will continue to be with you and I'm trusting Him for your complete recovery and favorable prognosis!

Thank you so much for the prayers and notes of concern.

I saw the doctor on Thursday and don't have much to report. They redid all my allergy testing and I have no allergies! I don't understand as this is
very different from allergy testing over the past 10 years. She said that allergies come and go and change over time as our immune systems change. So I will consider this part as good news.

She drew blood for mastocytosis testing. It will take 4 weeks for the results to come back as there is only one lab in the country currently doing the testing.

She doesn't think that it is mastocytosis but more likely "idiopathic anaphalyxis." That means that it is a true anaphalytic (severe, life-threatening allergic reaction) but that they can't determine the reason for it. She went over the things that I must do in the event of another allergic crises--injections of Benadryl and epinehprene (sp?), 911, etc. I go back in about a month.

Thanks again for all your warm and caring responses,
MJ

Or a bee sting?

I have an allergy to sea food. Lobster put me in the hosital when my throat closed up one night and I couldn't breathe. Now I have to be sure to check out every appetizer at parties for shrimp, crab et al...imagine a cat who can't eat sea food...tragic. I'm a tuna and chicken kind of gal anyway.

Well, you had us all pretty worried, MJ...you dropped out of sight for a few days and I was pretty concerned. Glad you're back and OK. Are there things they told you not to eat?

Catnip,

Yeah it is that kind of reaction, potentially fatal, throat swelling shut kind of thing. the point of the "idiopathic" part is that they can't tell what causes it and that it can happen w/o warning or w/o having eaten something that I am allergic to. Yes, they gave me the same list as before--no chocolate, soy sauce, tea, hot dogs, cold cuts, aged cheese, alcohol. All those foods have histamines in them and can trigger reactions in sensitive people. All we all know how sensitive I am.

Didn't mean to cause concern by my absence. I just took a few days off work and spent time with Mr. J and the boys. We went to an amusement park, watched movies, went shopping. We were enjoying the last few days before school starts again.
