Hello everyone - I'm new to this forum and I hope I'm posting this to the right category. Can somebody talk a little about what each person in the relationship should bring to the table in order to either make it successful or work through the problems?

For example, I find it hard to work anything through with my spouse because he forgets what he says or does, or outright revisits history. I don't know for sure if it's just lapses in memory or is this his way of protecting himself. In any case, this means any discussion or expression of need from me becomes void (if that didn't happen, why are you raising it?).

Or, my spouse would say he would do something and then did not do them. I believe this is fundamental in working through a relationship course. How would I know if he's going to do what he says he will do? Especially now we have so many instances of him not following through?

Maybe these are part of Love Busters. Or maybe these are prerequisites. Either way, I guess I'm looking for some validation (am I crazy for expecting that?) and outside opinion.

Thanks.
