Something must have shifted in me and Mr."T"'s marriage as we are actually shrugging off some serious financial difficulties and actually are having fun with each other!!!!
It started last month when the electricity was cut off because we had to pay the CS...then the phone was cut off...we've been trying to catch up ever since...*sigh*
Then when we were ready to pay the CS for this pay period, Me, Bubba and Mini-me came down with some serious coughing crud...between the doctor's visits and the cost of meds, that slimmed down our finances...now Mr."T" has the creeping crud too...and he can't afford to take off work...I've been giving him my prenatal vitamens to help his body fight off the crud....
Then, to top it all off...my dog, Kuggy the pug, (My baby and the dog I've saved my birthday and Christmas money for almost a year to get him) got ran over by my children's school bus yesterday and broke his leg. I cannot afford the $1,000 the surgeon wants for him. I told them to put him to sleep and they took pity on me and offered to let the intern operate on him for $250.00....I had to give them at least $50 for that....
Now...this is the rare month that we get paid three times in one month...next Fridays pay will be the one that we have to pay the CS from now...
Do y'all think that if I wrote a small nice note to OW to explain why her payment will be late would be ok? We have NC, but I want her to know that we are NOT being asses on purpose. Any suggestions as to what to write, if anything? We don't want her to think that we are jerking her around and not paying and have to drag juvvie court into it again.
I don't want to contact her, but I feel that the least is owed an explanation...as well as is it appropriate to tell her we were late becase our electricity was cut off last time??? I personally thinks she really doesn't give a flying rip about our family...but still...I really cannot afford a P.O.ed ex-ow who's money is late...
Ironically, she wasn't in a hurry to get her money when she moved and didn't leave a forwarding addy to us...
Thoughts anyone? I do try to be a decent human being, even though I want to breathe my creeping crud into the envelope that she will open...j/k!!!

Twiisty, I'm sorry for your finances, illnesses, and puppy. I'm glad you and hubby are having fun despite things.
I'm not sure I really understand the pay bit. You mean you'll start paying ch-support at the end of them month rather than the beginning? Is that legally late? Is this a permanent change or temporary change?
Would contacting XOW make any difference? You know her better than we do. Is there a legal entity who could do it? (In our XOW's state, there is a caseworker for each case who can be contacted about things like this by either party.)
Hope things improve, J

You are breaking my heart. I almost cried when I read about your lights, phone, etc. You must be an incredibly strong woman to go through this. I read your sig. and am happy to see you are 18 + months into your recovery. My first thought would be that the OW probably doesn't care about your family but it's not for me to say that... Just a question ...how does your H handle the situation? Does he feel guilty when stuff like this happens to your family? Does he apologize time after time? Do you get mad when it happens and blame it on him? I know this wasn't your original posting but I'm just curious. I wonder how you "FEEL" and if it's affected your recovery. I will pray for you - for your bills, for your family - for you! Hugs to you!!!

twisty I dont think you owe her an explanation, just let her know there was a problem and while you are going to get it to her as soon as possible, it will be a little late. I would hope she doesnt count on this money for support any way.

Twiisty, I am sorry you are going through this. I know here you have to be more than once before anything will be done about it in the courts. Maybe, if she writes you asking why it is late than I would write her back. Otherwise, I would just leave it alone.
