Computer Virus???

Hey Ladies and Gents.....

I got several things in my mailbox and some things returned that I NEVER sent to others. I think there's a computer virus going around...just giving y'all the head's up.

I am running my McAfee to check out my system. I got one thing returned to me that I never sent CD Collins and I got two things from Xaralel and OC research that I know didn't look right.

I was wondering if any of y'all had the same problem? I never opened any of them, but I wonder if it was one of those silent worms that attach without the use of attachments....

That virus has been around MB for quite a while now. Tempest posted about it on the Technical/Feedback forum back in May 2002.. An Important Notice Regarding a Computer Virus

Due to those virus infected emails with files and downloads, I have blocked all files and downloads to my MB address. I now only accept regular emails unless I am warned ahead of time to expect one.

And to all MB posters, NEVER accept an email from my name WITH a file or download!! I don't send them OR accept them. If you get one, delete it. It is NOT from me nor generated from my address.

twiisty, if you have a problem getting rid of it, email me (a "regular" email!! LOL). When I received that virus it really messed up my computer! If we'd all run our system checks and virus programs, perhaps we could get rid of this.

Hey Twiisty and Justuss, around the holidays I received e-mails from some MB'ers who never sent them. I don't know about "virus" but one member replied that she never sent it.

I never wrote to tell anyone here that it was happening.
