Hi,All
I've never posted, but come here often. I have a question that I hope someone may be able to help me with.
H has an 16 month OC that he's been in contact with since birth. (Not to mention OW). Recently I asked him to leave and go stay there since he can't seem to leave them alone.
Thats when he tells me to get a lawyer concerning custody. He says that he wants to be in his son's life(no problem with me). I've heard that OW is threating him as far as being able to see OC.
My question is, do I handle this, or do I let him handle it himself. I need to see that he means what he says. I don't want it to be all on me, I want to see that this is what he wants to do and not something to get me off his back for a while.
Has anyone had this situation and if so how should I handle it? If not do you have any advice?
Thanks csmoore

cs....The board is usually slow on the weekends.
Since I do not know your husband, his intentions, your marriage or any of the other emotional items in your situation, I will keep my response purely to the lawyer situation.
I would HIGHLY recommend a lawyer. My husband is not very detail oriented at all so in my case, I gave him a list of lawyers that I found through the phone book and asked him to call around for pricing and to see if he got any particular "feel" for the law office staff and their willingness to assist, etc. He did that. He set up the first appointment and we went together.
I have accompanied him to every law appointment, every court hearing, etc. I am also listed with the attorney for them to be able to give information to or take calls from. Otherwise they don't have any obligation to speak to you. Wife or not! It's a confidential matter and he has to give permission (or at least that's how our attorney handles it).
Good luck and you'll hopefully soon be hearing from some of the other ladies on this board.

Angelia & Twilight,
Thanks for repling, It's good to have someone that's going through the same issues, and can share their experiences. Thanks again..
We have prepaid legal and H called to get in touch with a lawyer, to which they sent the name of a lawyer that we call and make an appointment with. The letter with the lawyer's name and # has been sitting on the night stand about a week now. I want H to take the initiative to start things moving.
Do I call the lawyer to make an appt., Ask H how he's planning on handling it, or don't say anything and let him handle it?
Lil about my story:
