Gee, I haven't thought of that song in 20 years. I can barely remember the music. I remember who I was dating.

Duhhhhhhhhh!....The "Pina Colada" song!!!!! I can hear it now, but now I have it AND "Margaritaville" going through my mind. Guess that's what I get for taking MJ's thread to "tangentville"!! Speaking of tangents...think I'll make some non-alcoholic Pina Coladas tonight, have the mix in the freezer...yummmmm!!

Yep, definitely sharing in the misery!
1.) Since you mentioned Rupert Holmes, I began to think of the song "Short People", if that's what it's called. I'm sure Holmes didn't sing it, but it's driving me crazy trying to remember who did!! I even tried to browse for the info., but came up empty handed.
2.) Since you spoke of yourself in the 3rd person, I now have Bob Dole on my mind...but I KNOW he didn't sing anything!!!
One of these Wednesdays, it will have to stop raining so I can spend my day off, outside, instead of inside goofin' off on the pc!!!

Any other's out there who want to share the reason for their choice of screen name? I loved this when it was done a couple years ago!

Wasted away again in Tangentville, Searchin' for my lost shaker of salt. Some people claim AutumnDay is to blame, But I know it's TooMuchCoffeeMan's fault.
Cocunut Song? I *LOVE* that song. We have a long history of conga dances in our house. I often lead the kids up to the bathtub with a conga dance. We used to sing "La Cucaracha" with Russian words "Para Kupatza." Which means "Time for a bath." Then we added Coconut Song to the mix. Why is it in 1971/2 the Coconut Song always seemed to be followed by "I Can See Clearly Now (the Rain is Gone)?"
For all the ParrotHeads out there, how 'bout another drinking song (since alcohol had so little to do with our spouse's choices):
Twenty degrees and the hockey games on. Nobody cares; they are way too far gone, screamin' "Boat drinks," somethin' to keep them all warm. This morning I shot six holes in my freezer. I think I got cabin fever. Somebody sound the alarm. I'd like to go where the pace or life's slow. Could you beam me somewhere, Mister Scott? Any old place here on Earth or in space. You pick the century and I'll pick the spot.
I know I should be leaving this climate. I got a verse but can't rhyme it. I gotta go where it's warm.
Boat drinks. Waitress, I need two more boat drinks. Then I'm headin south 'fore my dream shrinks. I gotta where it's warm.
I gotta go where it's warm. I gotta go where it's warm. I gotta go where there ain't any snow, where there ain't any blow, 'cause my fin sinks so low. I gotta go where it's warm.
There, that oughta learn ya not to post lyrics. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="images/icons/wink.gif" /> Thanks for the trip down memory lane, ya'll.

How's that? <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="images/icons/grin.gif" /> <img border="0" title="" alt="[Razz]" src="images/icons/tongue.gif" /> <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="images/icons/grin.gif" />

Hey MJ & TMCM~
Surrrrrrrrre, while I'm busy cleaning my house, you 2 are over here, stinkin' up the board with your songwriting skills!! <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="images/icons/grin.gif" />
I wouldn't suggest posting on Poems, they may all think no matter what the "ville", the 2 of you are indeed wasted!! <img border="0" title="" alt="[Razz]" src="images/icons/tongue.gif" /> <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="images/icons/grin.gif" />
Friday's...gotta love em'!!!!!

Oh my gosh, Nilsson Schmillson. I got that album for my birthday back in 1971. I hid the album from my mother, she would never have approved of the rumpled look of Harry on the cover. What a rebel I was, that along with all my America albums. Hence the name Tina 71 the year I graduated from highschool. Tina, just the shortened name my dad always called me.

I am most emphatically NOT wasted. Just wasting space on the MBers board. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="images/icons/wink.gif" />

Nope, I don't think you waste space on the boards! Your thoughts are always valuable, I know you help me tremendously. Even lighthearted, goofin' around posts help me! <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="images/icons/smile.gif" /> Now as for me wasting space, that's another question!! <img border="0" title="" alt="[Roll Eyes]" src="images/icons/rolleyes.gif" />
