I discovered this great recipe online...and wanted to share it...if you have a favorite recipe, please let us know...I got some good ones off here last time we did this....so in the hopes of fostering more "togetherness"....I give you....

Cream Cheese Pound Cake

Ingredients:
1 1/2 cups butter
1 (8 ounce)package cream cheese
3 cups white sugar
1 tablespoon vanilla extract
1 teaspoon almond OR lemon extract
6 eggs
3 cups flour

Preheat oven to 325 degress F (165 degrees C). Grease one 10 inch tube pan.

Cream together the butter, cream cheese, and sugar until light. Stir in the vanilla and the extract of your choice. Add the flour and the eggs alternately, beginning and ending with the flour. Pour batter into the prepared pan.

Bake at 325 Degrees F.(165 C.) for 1 hour and 15 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.

**Disclaimer....

I haven't tried this yet...it looks good...I used to have a recipe for cream cheese lemon pound cake and this was the closest I could find. I used to have the recipe out of "My great recipes" set or something like that....

Hope to get more recipes to add to my collection.
Hugs to all,

Back from our sudden trip to the hospital to get our older D's finger stitched up! She's just fine and got 4 stitches, and will never dare her brother to break raw spaghetti noodles with a knife again!!!!

This is a recipe that I always loved from my Grandma! We used to have this every time we'd eat at their home:

Spaghetti Amore

(6 servings)

1 lb ground beef or turkey
1/2 c chopped onions
1/4 c chopped green pepper
2 c shredded Velveeta cheese(I cut the slices into strips)
1-10 3/4 oz can Cream of Chicken soup
1-10 3/4 oz can Tomato soup
1 soup can of water
dash garlic salt
1/2 lb spaghetti (4 servings) cooked and drained.

Lightly brown meat, onion, and green pepper, stirring occasionally. Add the soup, water, and garlic salt; heat. Blend with 1/2 c shredded cheese and spaghetti in 3 qt casserole(it fits in a 2 qt, but spills over in the oven, I know from experience ). Top with remaining cheese. Bake at 350 for about 30 minutes or until bubbly.

Great with garlic bread and salad!!!!

ENJOY

Chocolate Snowballs

1 cup butter
1/2 cup powdered sugar
1 tsp vanilla
2-1/4 cup flour
1/4 tsp salt
3/4 cup nuts (optional)
1 square (1oz.) unsweetened chocolate
(or, if you don't have the square, use about 1/4 cup unsweetened chocolate baking powder with an extra 1 tablespoon of butter)

Melt butter, then mix all above ingredients together. Feel free to get your hands in there and really mix it well ... it's not slimey, I promise.

Roll into 1 inch diameter balls.
Bake at 400 degrees F for 10-12 minutes.

Roll/coat in additional powdered sugar while still hot.

Best part about this recipe is that since there's no raw egg, there's no danger (eg. salmonella) with children sampling the batter raw.

How about rum balls? Oh wait, as a recovering alcoholic I can't have them.

Coach B's Chocolate Cake

1 box dark chocolate cake mix (D.Hines)
1 small box instant chocolate jello pudding
1/2 cup oil
1/2 cup water
4 eggs
1 small container sour cream (8 oz)
1 package chocolate chips (12 oz)

Blend all ingredients, except chocolate chips.
Add chocolate chips to mixture (stirring them in).
Butter and flour bundt pan (any pan works, too but baking time will be less).
Bake at 350' for 50-55 minutes.
Sprinkle powdered sugar on top, serve warm (great with vanilla ice cream).

SH's Taco Dip

1 - 6 oz Calavo avocado dip (freezer dept, thaw)
guacamole works, too.
1 - 8 oz cream cheese
...Beat together spread on tray.

add layer of...
chopped onions
chopped tomatoes
chopped lettuce
shredded cheddar cheese
shredded monterey jack cheese

Drizzle one bottle of taco sauce over top (hot or mild to taste... HOT is best, don't worry it won't overpower the dip at all).

Serve some jalepenos on the side with tortilla chips.

This has always been a favorite with the men.

100 degrees outside. Just came in from cleaning the fishpond, covered in pondscum (in the TRUEST sense of the word ) and all I can think about is :

Marie Calendar's Potato Cheese Soup....
Ingredients

8 c peeled and cubed potatoes
2 c peeled and chopped onions
4 c chopped celery
2 ts salt
4 c half and half
6 tb butter or margarine
1 c shredded sharp Cheddar
-cheese
4 tb chopped fresh parsley;
-optional garnish

Instructions

Marie Callender's is a chain of restaurants in the southwest (US). Sister
companies are: Chi-Chi's restaurants, Taco Bell, Claim Jumper, El Torito
and the Cheesecake Factory.

1. Place potatoes, onions, celery and salt in water to cover in a large
pot. Simmer until tender, about 15 minutes.

2. Put in blender or food processor fitted with the metal blade and puree
until chunky.

3. Return to soup pot; add half-and-half, butter and cheese. Stirring,
simmer until piping hot. (Do not boil.)

Presentation: Garnish with parsley if desired. Good served with corn bread.

Serve 1.5-cups per person (approx).

I made this one,,,super good!!!

1 8 oz. sour cream
1 stick butter
1 can cream of celery soup
ritz crackers - one sleeve should do

combine all the incredients except for the butter and ritz crackers. crumble ritz crackers on top of casserole and using melted butter stick pour over top. Bake at 350 for 1 hour.

Here's another one that is all vegetarian.

Cornbread Pudding:
