Hi KT: I'm not sure about in your state, but in my state they have progam here for all kids. It is regular insurance but the state pays portions of it. Companies well known are involved. I would think it would be worth it to look into it? I know a girlfriend who is on it and she pays like 50.00 a quarter. She has great insurance for her child too. It covers everything. Just something I thought that you might be interested in checking into. I know if xmm does keep this a battle longer than it should be, I'll be having to apply as my insurance will run out on her in a month which is through my stbxh. In my state medical is very expensive. Just wanted to throw that out to you.

Thanks, yah in CA (where I am) they have a program above medi-cal for famiies that "work" and make too much for free medi-cal called HEALTHY FAMILIES (for any one interested you can look it up on the web)
We applied @ the end of Nov, and what usually takes 10 days...well we still haven't heard from them. I called every week to check on our status and was told that, "the computer was down", then "we got a new computer system blah blah blah". Eventually after speaking with numerous supervisors, one finally told me it would be quicker if I just reapplied!
So I got ALL our information together again and was ready to reapply but I called to check on our status again and it said our app was recieved and was "being processed" so I did not send it in thinking it should arrive any day now.....nope it has been another 3-4 weeks now!
I know this is a good program it is just frustrating. In Jan we had to take youngest (19 months @ the time) to the ER because she fell and gashed her chin (common childhood injury) but I got so freaked out with all the blood and didn't know what to do. She needed stitches but they used this skin super glue instead to help prevent scarring------she tore it off the next day--and $500 later!!!!
So, I get a little bitter when I hear OW talking about OC medical or dental appointments! Just my OWN thing, I know!
The kicker---they sure didn't wait to cash my premium check as soon as they got it in DEC!!!!!
Thanks for reminding me though, I will call them again today-gotta be that squeaky wheel sometimes! <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="images/icons/wink.gif" />

Medical insurance is just so important especially when you have kids. Just like what happened to your daughter. I hope you can get in the program. Hmmmmmmmm since Nov uh? I guess maybe I should look into it now seeing she will be born next week and only have a month after she is born. Yeah healthy kids is what I think it's called here too.
