Even though this post isn't about a pregnancy issue, I usually post in here, so forgive me for posting this.
My husband and I saw an attorney tonight and filed a restraining order against the OW. It hasn't been approved yet, but with the evidence that we presented, it looks pretty solid.
The OW thought that my husband was off today, so she sent him quite a few new emails and a couple of instant messages. She threatened to contact his parents for medical information that she claims that she needs for "their baby". She also stated that she may get an attorney to subpoena his medical records from the Air Force.
She also had to inform him that the Amy Fisher story was on television today at 3 pm on Lifetime. (hint, hint?)
We took the above message as an indirect threat against me and printed it out for the attorney.
She will be served in a couple of days and will have a mandatory court appearance for the restraining order, as will we. Maybe I'll get a good look at her and see if she's starting to show?
I am hoping that the restraining order gets approved, yet I'm afraid of her reaction. She's simply going to lose it!!
Please pray for us.

Will do!
I am so glad you guys are sticking up for yourselves.
What an idiot, she is totally trying to manipulate and is grasping @ straws. Medical history is so private (w/ all these new privacy laws) now they won't even give it to a spouse unless the other spouse gives written consent.
She has NO right to that information.
Be safe now, take care and keep the updates coming!

Be strong - don't let her get the best of you. Be careful and always watch your back - you never know what a desperate woman might do!

The restraining order WAS approved!!!!!
The OW should be served sometime today. Oh, it feels so good to finally defend ourselves, I almost feel like it's my wedding day all over again!!
My husband was worried about the date/time that the hearing was set for because he's working that day. I spent the whole night praying about it and it turns out that he'll be off in time (with my help) in order to be at the hearing.
Thank you, Lord!!

YES!!!!!!!
Be careful now still. This is an extremely, unstable, unpredictable woman.
I'm so glad that you guys are getting things together to protect yourselves.
What is the hearing for? For her to have a chance to defend herself against the RO? To prove she is not a 'threat'? HAHAHAHAH
Be careful.

Yes, please be careful. Just because you have a pc of paper and she's not surpose to be around you, doesn't mean she will stop. Shes a crazy bettsy bug!!! Look out for yourself and your family and kids. She might not hurt you, but someone you care about. So just be aware. Good Luck !! We had requested that the process server notify us when the OW had been served. We received the call last night. According to the server, the OW didn't show much emotion, but I'm sure as soon as she closed the door, she started tearing her house apart in anger.
If her live-in/ex-husband didn't know the extent of her activities/harassment, he sure does now!!
After telling the OW numerous times "It's over, please leave us alone", I hope she got the message this time.
I hope she and her "husband" had a pleasant evening and will enjoy Memorial Day. She ruined Valentine's Day and Easter for me, so now it's my turn to have a nice holiday with my family.
Steak, anyone?
Edited to add: Yes, I will be very careful. I know that a piece of paper isn't a fool-proof source of protection, but at least I can start focusing on my marriage now instead of her threats. [ May 29, 2004, 04:11 AM: Message edited by: Arabesque ]

This is a small update of sorts, I guess.
Our attorney called me today and told me that he had talked to the previous man that the OW had had an affair with. We knew that she had filed a restraining order against him, but were kind of wondering what the 3 charges on his record were from. It turns out that the OW falsely accused him of breaking and entering her home, battery, intimidation, etc. He served 5 months in jail for something that he didn't do!!! Sound familiar...me being falsely accused of making abusive phone calls to her at work?
This man is going to meet with our attorney on Thursday, and testify in court the next day to support my husband's request for a permanent restraining order.
I pray that she does show up to defend herself. Won't she be surprised when she sees all of us there testifying against her?
3 days of peace and quiet...and counting.......

Arabesque~
Good for you!!! I hope it works and I would love to see her face. I hope you guys can work on you M and recovery--it all sounds so good--you don't know how many times I wished that our OW was lying and really wasn't pregnant but I could be so fortunate.
Anyway, just wanted to say I'm so glad for you. Keep us updated.
