Our family is dealing with the situation on my thread "Presumed father needs legal advice".

I expect that I'll be running into ex-DiL's step-sister (the one who really wants to take GD away from S) fairly soon. Knowing her, I'm quite sure she'll try to "suck up" and tell me how sorry she is that things are going the way they are (she's really 2-faced, KWIM?)

Anyway, I have a response of sorts worked out:

"I'm sorry, too. I'm so sorry that there are people in this world who would try to rip a little girl's heart out, try to destroy her identity, and try to tear her from the loving arms of her father who adores her, just so they can have her for themselves, and still have the gall to claim that they love her."

I would then leave and say nothing more. What do y'all think?

Trust me, it won't sink in. People like that - people who only think of themselves - only see the world as a really really tiny place that they lord over like evil puppetiers. They can't see that they ever do any wrong - and even if they admit to the wrong seldom is it sincere.

This person and her step-sister are like that (from what I've gleaned). They cannot fathom that their actions create ripples that soon turn to very destructive tsunamis.

But, you saying that to her might make you feel TONS better. Just make certain that you walk away before she opens her mouth to spew venom at you - because you know people like that hurt others just for the sake of hurting others.

Hugs again!

Kimmy
