quote:
Hey what do you think about starting a new thread called "Today's Happy Thought"? This one is getting a little long.

B-b-b-buh-but what about newbies that need a smile? They can go through and read what we find as happy and hopefully find at least one thing in their own lives to post....(((sniff))) I like going back and reading our happys.
Happy for today - I LIVED THROUGH THIS HORRIBLE WEEK. It was nothing huge each day - just little crap that seemed to fall on us all at once. I got down about it last night, and dh giggled at me, then said "If we can live through all THIS (meaning all the A flotsam and jetsam), then this week is NOTHING!" First time I've heard him refer to it (the a) in that kind of positive manner (w/out attempting to beat himself up over it).
Anyway, driving over the big bridge this morning there were A LOT of fishermen in the water....and the fish were jumping...I mean, HOPPING, LEAPING! It was like they saw the fishermen and were saying, "Nyah, nyah, nyahnie boo-boo, YOU can't catch ME!"
I swear God has the BEST sense of humor!

My daughter and I are getting closer. We had a moment reflecting on past. She did not know how much I wanted her to be home with me. My sister, who she was living with, played both ends. But we are coming back together emotionally since she is grown now. I did not know she was sad and how much she need me. She pretended to be happy. My happy thought is that daughter is being honest with me now about her feelings and is confiding in me. Past is sad but present is happy that my sister is not in her life anymore.

Here's something to make you laugh. I offered to post this story on the Hair thread in GQ, but they weren't interested....dang males. The mommies thought it was a riot.
I've found you can enjoy the feeling of being scraped off the ceiling at the salon by purchasing and using your very own home waxing kit. Now. I live where it is commonplace to visit the beach at least once a week. And I've been religiously shaving "down there" in preparation for beach season. We all know that shaving "down there" is awful in itself, what with the stubblies and razor burn, the very last thing you want to do is bare that tender skin to salt water (wince). So, I figure, I've squeezed out 3 babies and survived all of them, I can wax, and I can do it myself. I am an idiot. A certifiable idiot. I happily purchase the innocous little box, not yet comprehending the evil it contained. I innocently enter the bathroom and apply the little strips. Steeling myself for the quick (I thought) pain, I grab and yank. A primordial scream erupted, and I was startled to figure out that the scream came from me. Hot fire made its way down my leg, and up my torso - at the same time. I could not open my eyes for the pain. Certainly, all of those wicked little hair were stuck to the strip...I only had one other side to go. I steel myself and pry my eyes open to look at the strip which I was certain would be covered with folicles. Oh.....my......gawd! There were 6 hairs on the damn thing. SIX friggin hairs. I look down there and I am BLEEDING. What insane, woman hating, satanic, evil, warped little man thought this torture up? I couldn't believe it. But do I stop...nope, cause certainly I did it wrong...or I loosened the other hairs so they'll come off this time. I reapply the strip (it was reusable, the horrible little box said) and yank again. Gulls 5 miles away swarmed around the house to see what was dying.
So the horrid little box is joining the very dusty Epilady on the shelf (side note: I think the same sick little man invented the Epilady), that I can't GIVE away and nobody will buy in a garage sale - heaven knows it's a sin to throw anything away! I'm beginning to think that I'll wear a shorts style swimsuit.
Anyone know if Nair works?

Another great day to be alive and well. My H called me! He is having to chase. AD, I'm so letting him chase-not phone to him from me not a one since Sunday except Monday to return a call to him--it kills him not to talk to me I think--so he always calls.
I get to pick up pictures of son that I had taken-will see about scanning them in at work or at my moms. Maybe upload those too.
My veggies are growing great at home. KT my toes aren't painted-I know bad but had to take off old and need to put on new so tonight long bath and toe painting awaits. No sandals today of course!

I agree, Albany - another great day to be alive and well. I am thankful for both of those things and for my families health as well. My little ones woke up this morning with lovely smiles. I watched my H and D lying next to me in the bed this morning alseep. Daddy's arms wrapped around her tight - gosh she looks so much like him, but it was a peaceful and lovely sight to see.
I pray that this is what the Lord has for in store for me - my family, whole again.
Blessed,
JT

He also called me on my wya to work--he having to do all the calling-I haven't initiated any phone calls since Sunday morning.
