quote:
Oh nio, I meant to ask......is it true that you pay full price for your new cars in TX? No negotiating on the price? My H is a car salesman so we can compare stories/differences.

ROTFLMAO! NO WAY. I'm laughing right now because one of the greatest joys of my uncle's life is to go in with a family member and NEGOTIATE. He went as far as to take off his SHOE and beat a desk once for my mom b/c the sales dude was trying a bait-n-switch on her. You mention car shopping and he gets this far-away glazed look in his eyes....it's the family joke.
There ARE a few places that the prices are "set in stone" - Gunn Auto in San Antonio was like that....I bought two cars from them (after checking around a lot) - I loved them because there was NO hardsell....
Not blue at all....I'm chalking last week's blues to AF (auntie flo) fixing to visit and a sincere lack of peanut M&Ms in my life....Both issues have since been dealt with.....
- Kimmy, who LOVES the Shrek sized peanut M&Ms, but the colors...ug....one is boogie colored, I swear!

HAHAH......I saw the shrek bag of pnuts on clearance but I just couldn't bring my self to purchase them because of the COLORS!
H was told by a co-worker from TX that there is no negotiating on prices in TX AND you do not know what your payment is until you are in the finance office-----after you have already agreed to buy the car.
Don't mean to TJ but this is a bit funny having to do w/ the topic @ hand. H went to put air int eh tires yesterday & it was $.50. He asked the gas attendant if he could have a token, the guy must ahve been having a hard day because he got really mad @ H and was rude & told him he needed to buy gas in order to get a token. H says oh I can buy a quarter worth of gas & then you'll give me a token? the guy yells @ him, Buy whatever you want....blah blah blah.
No big deal, H was gonna buy me a snack anyway.(since my cookie dough bites mysteriously got lost since the drive-in, I didn't even get to enjoy them...sigh) The red vines were marked $.25 so he thought hey good deal. But after the cashier rang it up..it was almost $2. h was like ?????what??? And he asked how much were these things? Casheir called the manager over & the manager says, waht are you stupid? This is NOT worth 25 cents it is $1.25, are you stupid? yelling @ H. Well, like ANY man likes to be disrespected in public???? So H is like that's false advertising you have to sell it to me for that price. Manager is yelling @ him blah blah blah.
So h comes out grabs a penny & goes back in to purchase ONE PENNY of gas so the cashier HAS to give him an air token!!!!!!!!!! And he's like, I KNOW you didn't pay full price for your car!!!!!! LOL
I think he's been working WAY too much lately, can you tell? Sorry to threadjack.

You know, don't you, that any snack eaten in the dark has no fat grams, calories or carbs, right? LMAO!

quote:
AND you do not know what your payment is until you are in the finance office-----after you have already agreed to buy the car.

I have had the very unpleasant experience on more than one occasion while purchasing a car, to be told my payments will be around one price, and then when in the finance office it was TOTALLY different. One time was AFTER driving the car for a week - they let me take it home for a test drive, then kept putting me off. I was UBER pissed! Needless to say, they got their freaky car back - I still LMAO about it - they'd put off and put off me coming in to sign the papers - meanwhile I have their car and am driving it back and forth to work and such - but I lived in the country out of the city limits - a good 45 min. drive both ways...that car seriously had some miles racked up on it when they got it back. Too bad, so sad, that's what you get when you have shoddy business practices....A-holes....

quote:
Sorry to threadjack

No apologies necessary...It's MY thread and anyone can play as far as I'm concerned.

quote:
OC got lice once too, I found it but it wasn't from us. OW was soooooo embarrassed!

At least your ow had the (ahem) decency to be embarrassed about it. Mine kept making excuses - always SEP (somebody else's problem). When dh dropped off mija yesterday, she STILL hadn't checked all the kid's hair (she's got 6 total)...she was shocked Saturday when I suggested she check her own...but really now, those critters are opportunists - they don't know an adult head from a kid's. And I know the kids all sit on the same couch and everything as she does. Her hair is longer than mine (mine's to the top of my [censored] now), so it is VERY conceivable that she could get them. Can you kill someone for wallowing in their own ignorance with not will to pull themselves out of the mire? Wouldn't that be justifiable homicide????
Anyway - we've got the baby and here's a kicker. She told Nio NOT to wash his cradle cap...the reason???? Because it'll make him bald. Have you ever heard such a thing? Mijo got a bath right off and Curel on his face and head. It already looks much better. I can only imagine how itchy that must be - to have all that dead skin and oil....ick!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We've got him for 10 days. How much you wanna bet the cc will be gone when he goes back, but mija will have bugwuggies again?

EWE! It's making my head itch just thinking about it.
Oh & ABOUT those poisons..........you can use MAYONAISSE. Leave it on the head for awhile. You could leave it on overnight but w/ youngun's they might want to eat it or something and it might go bad after all that time so best to put it on during the day w/ a shower cap & then rinse after a few hours.........and imagine all the conditioning it will do! You'll just have a 'baby salad' running around! LOL
There's another home remedy but.....I don't remember it but I did find these online so.....you can check it out & you will probably find it...plus it's CHEAPER! ******** ******** In CA there is NO 'cooling off' period. Once you drive off the lot w/ the car......you cannot bring it back & try to get out of it-------it's YOURS & you HAVE to pay for it, no changing your mind. You only 'test drive' around the block & that's it! BUt there are cases when the financing fails & they ask you to come back in & give another $1000 more for dwn payment or something......but yah right.....if you don't have it, oh well, now they have to sell it as a USED car! But my man's good & HONEST! They don't really make THAT much...occasionally you might get a real winner deal but that only happens sometimes......realistically.......it's average. PLUS CA has so many laws....the sales man HAVE to reveal, truthfully everything about the cars or ELSE!!! But every one is always suspicious (& rightly so) becuase of the reputation car salesman have had in the past BEFORE all the consumer safety laws. H & I joke that we thought the very same thing about car salesman BEFORE he actually became one! LOL ********* ********* Yah he might be bald but duh! You would think after 6 kids, you would remember that it GROWS BACK!!!!!!! LOL LOL LOL
When we first started C w/ OC, OW would send her w/ a little bag & it had stuff like extra clothes AND the funniest....paper toilet seat covers! LOL Isn't that a hoot? Then she sent her w/ a lunch once because OW said OC told OW we only give OC HOT DOGS to eat! oh okay! We need that laughing histarically icon!

quote:
Oh & ABOUT those poisons..........you can use MAYONAISSE

Found that one out, too - AFTER doing extensive searching on the bugwuggies....Lemme tell you, those poisons are SCARY (one lady lost her son due to use of Nix shampoo - the correlations between her use of it on him and his illnesses were way too close for comfort). NEVER AGAIN. Olive oil is supposed to suffocate them, too. Regular use of a hair dryer on high heat will kill them also. Found a lot of info about them....They also don't like ocean water - that's a plus for me .
I don't think mijo will ever have to worry about not having hair. It's not that he has a lot now, but genetically he's set for life! I call him little chango man (monkey man) because he's got hair all over anyway. She's just a superstious idiot - I can't STAND that she won't educate herself on things. I know she takes the kids to the library - why not look stuff up while there??????? Lazy, lazy, lazy. Annoying (to me), annoying, annoying.
Okay. Happy things...IT'S FRIDAY!!! Woo hoo! I get to play with a baby all weekend....he's at that "I'm-trying-out-my-charming-smile-on-you,-does-it-work?" phase right now. LOVIN IT!

The story on the uncle made me laugh...."....glazed look...." My dad has that too. He loves to car shop, especially when someone else is paying for it! Just tell him what you want and he turns it into a career. He loves to haggle. He is really good too. He gets things in writing and goes back and forth. One year all 4 of his children were going to get new trucks. He was in heaven. He spent weeks shopping all over, hey, he was buying 4 trucks...he did get us all a great deal though!!
Lice..........ick.

HAHAHA, when my little brother was 'little' (22 yo now) he was sooooo hairy, that when my parents weren't around (evil grin moment) we used to tell him he was ADOPTED------from MONKEYS! Then he would start to tear up & said he was gonna ask mom so we would rush to tell him we were just kidding so he wouldn't tell........until next time (evil laugh ahhahahahahahaha).
That's what he gets for losing all the pieces to our games! LOL *************** *************** (wistfully) hearing you nio---makes me wonder if things would be better if we had had C w/ OC since birth! (sigh)
Oh well, can't change the past but I keep praying for a miracle!

I'm effing beat! Chango boy was up a lot last night. Dh has one more night at work, too...oy! Don't blame the boy, tho. Started cereal, and he's gotten a little backed up. Can't say I wouldn't have been up, too, if positions were reversed (lol). Funny how at the 5th kid, I'm a helluva lot more laid back than I was at #1! "Yah, yah, mijo, just push already....poor baby!" As opposed to, "Doc! I know it's 3am, and I'm sorry, really I am, but WHAT DO I DO???" At least he's good natured through all his grunting!
Oh! And you know I mentioned the cradle cap that I wasn't supposed to wash off so he won't go bald....it's all gone now. Saturday, after his bath, I took the baby brush and brushed his hair. The stuff just started peeling off...gross. Poor guy. He had all kinds of peach fuzz all up under the stuff...so much for him being bald! (Can I say it again...idiot!) I can only imagine how itchy that was.
My 4 yo is LOVIN the big brother stuff. Held the bottle for me this weekend. Totally digs the little man! My 8 year old is the greatest helper, too.
YAWN! Is it 5 yet? I need to lay down.

Just re-sent--my e-mail shows they went okay. Maybe the picture files are too big but with being yahoo and not a small local internet provider I wouldn't think so. Let me know.

Of course. Niosgirl@yahoo.com!
I'm great - so frickin relieved this week is over.
We were SUPPOSED to have B's (Bekah's) birthday party at the beach NEXT weekend, but it's been bumped up to tomorrow since dh couldn't get off work any other time. OY! Nothing like last minute planning to set you on edge. That coupled with the fact that my boss has been stressing (and we all know that sh*t rolls downhill), and the whole Tuesday fiasco (that is a day I'll never get back), mijo was MAJORLY constipated (poor kid, and I'm sorry for TMI) - I can't say how many times I wanted just to go back to bed and pull the covers up. I'll be happy once the b-day party starts, and I can relax - maybe even crack open a double-e-r (we'd been spelling the word beer out like, b-double-e-r, and now that's what it's called).
Anyone know where I can find a Kim Possible pinata?

hi,
Hope the birthday goes well. My kids are into all the cartoons and I get caught up in cartoons with my kids too. Sorry I wish I knew where you could find one. Maybe on the internet but you probably could not get it in time. My kids have been gone two weeks with their Dad. Nice break for me but I miss them already.

Everthing is cool and froody - YAWN! Stayed up last night because it's Shark Week on Discovery (btw: didja all hear that a boy got attacked by a bull shark here in TX yesterday? OMGosh...it was just up the coast!). So I climb into bed then realize I needed to re-set my alarm because I was taking the children to mom's today. Do it, but don't realize I set the damn thing an hour ahead, too (did it in the dark). YAWN again! Guess who got up before the chickens??? Yeppers! Good thing is, I've got dinner 1/2 way done already (home made chicken ravioli with pink sauce). That's also a good thing, because I won't chop any digits off prepping the meal because I'm so darned tired.
Nio's supposed to be off today but had CE (continuing education class), so worked from 6 p to 6 a this morning, then had to be at class from 8-5. I'll bet he's yawning more than I am. Hope they give them lots of pee-breaks, cause I sent him with a HUGE thermos of coffee!

Oh! And I learned something!! Wanna know what it is?
That alligators jaws have a helluvalot of strength in the chomping down muscles, but the opening the mouth muscles are really really weak. Know how I found that out? Dh told me that the Parks and Wildlife guys let the deputies in on it JUST IN CASE! Holy batcrap, Batman! I mean, I knew we had them here - there's about a 10-12 footer that hangs at the Birding Center in Port A, but MY dh has to deal with them??? Yep.
Now, I'm nature girl by heart. Rodents, spiders, snakes - just about any animal is pretty low on my gross out scale. HOWEVER, I have screaming wild monkey fits about crocs, gators, and komodo dragons (didja know that one bite from them is fatal - and they follow their prey till they die - IJO). Since there are no crocs or Komodo dragons around here, I feel pretty safe, but dh informed me that he gets called on gator calls all the time. When I asked him if he does anything, he laughed at me and said he usually drives out to where it was reported seen, then radios back, "Yep, it's a gator all right." He can't really do anything about it anyway, he's not authorized to move it (Thank GOODNESS), and unless it's gonna hurt someone, he can't shoot it....but oy vey!
