Just to let you all know that I am back from another mini-get away. Spent 3 glorious nights camping on the beach! Just gotta love CA!

Was it all I hoped it would be? You decide.

P/u H from work & we left from there. Yep, I packed the mini-van up all by myself! whew! Didn't forget anything important did I? ONLY the BOOGIE-BOARD! DOH! oh well.......we're gonna have fun anyway!

2.5 hours or so later we arrived @ our destination & no bickering yet! My daaaaaahling H even put the tent up in his work clothes! I didn't think soon enough to get a pic of it for posterity. He was in his dress slacks & tie! It was soooooo cute. We had a nice little semi-secluded spot, but it was more 'little' than 'secluded'. The very front of our tent was practically right up on the fire pit!

But that was ok. I brought out my thrift store treasure of our 'Aerobed' air mattress......really inflated in 3 minutes. What wasn't ok was that the smallest member of the ktbunch INSISTED on sleeping on it w/ me & H. ok I can deal w/ that but what I can't deal w/ is her insisting on sleeping on TOP of all the blankets & refusing to go to sleep unless she is physically touching my body! LOL

It was warm but overcast the first day. BUT we visited the tide pools & saw lots of sea life up close & personal. Sea urchins, mussels, giant star fish, crabs........and a school of dolphins that swam back & forth along the coast.

The second day @ the sun came out in the afternoon. It was great. The dolphins even did some tricks out in the water. They jumped, did back dives, fluttered their tails on the water. Every one on the beach is standing there watching all of this & I realize we are all clapping & hoothooing like we are @ Sea World or something watching a trained show! Are we all dorks that never get 'out' or what? these dolphins are NOT trained, they are just having some natural fun.

We had smore's around the fire pit @ night. But the last night we had to have them w/ saltines instead of graham crackers because the ktbunch ate ALL the graham crackers when they went on a walk w/ daddy. They wanted them soooo bad but when we would make them.......ewe...sticky...ewe... is all we heard! LOL.

And they ate all my...uh I mean the chocolate. Ok so some people have coffee to start the day.....I have chocolate. My secret's out.

Then the last night ........ what I had been waiting for....a nice romantic stroll along the beach minus the ktbunch. I struggled to get them to sleep so H & I could be alone. Finally did it (got them to sleep not it) & away we went. But in typical katychronicle fashion......not exactly what we had in mind. I brought a blanket for us to sit on ....or whatever....but the tide was ALL the way up so hte only place to sit would be on rocks.....not too comfy. The clouds were finally gone so the moon was in full glory, ie: liek a giant spotlight, so no privacy. We finally find a semi-secluded table to sit @ & along comes a SKUNK! The second one we saw while we were down there! ewe! Apparently the skunk had the same idea as us????? SO I think.......hey I can be adventurous so I suggest we climb onto one of the life guard towers...only to realize that a homeless person had already made there home there! ahhhh!!!

After seeing the 3rd skunk....I said FORGET THIS! let's head on back to the tent w/ our super comfortable air mattress! So much for romantic adventures! LOL

ANd after a couple of restless nights because of some critters outside our tent eating what sounded like rocks....SPOOKY.....they must have some vry sharp claws & teeth. The last night we heard them again but this time they were in our tent in the porch area. H had seen a rabbit earleir & thought it must be back. Whatever it was sounded really scary. H just HAD to take a look!.......du dunt...du dunt...dutunt dutunt dutunt DUDUUUU.....It was only a CAT eating the dogs food! LOL oh really scary hanh? LOLOLOLOLOLOLOL

Had a great time & got some great pics of the ktbunch @ the beach. Glad to be back. Will check in on ya' all later.

Sounds fun! Isn't camping great? Nothing ever really goes as planned, but it is the controlled chaos that makes it!! Sounds great!!!

Hi KTbunch,

Sounds like you had fun roughing it. Next week I am going to New York City for the first time on 57th street I think. Then we are going to Great Adventure in New Jersey.

WB, kt!

Hey, you made some great memories, that's one of life's greatest treasures! Think of all the joy and laughter you all will have over Thanksgiving dinner's for years to come just from one little vacation in June of 04'.

Add that to all the other happy memories, and I bet you'll find how blessed you are, because you'll probably have more happy than sad memories of this life. That's what it's all about!

Happy 4th!
