I dunno if you all can tell or not, but I'm an AVID reader, and by that, I mean I don't read books - I CONSUME them. I'm totally addicted to Sci-fi/fantasy, and lately, Christian fiction.

I recently read ALL of the Left Behind series (except the ones for teens), and was wondering if anyone had any recommendations for Christian fiction. I LOVE Frank Peritti's works - my favorite being Prophet....I tend to eat my books in about a day and a half - depending on how many chores I do in between chapters (giggle).

Cool on Madeliene L'Engle - LOVE her books - didja see on Wonderful World of Disney they made a movie of A Wrinkle in Time? Anne McCaffrey actually emailed me back once - that's my only claim to fame. The Disney Channel also made a movie of A Ring of Endless Light - oy! Loved them both - but they loose something in the translation, I think.

Have had the Chronicles of Narnia since I was a young'un - still go through and read them over.

I have read BUB 1/2 way 2x but I kept starting over....duh..you'd think I would finish by now.

When I walk into a library....my first thought is......look @ all these books I haven't read yet! LOL

But I prefer biographies, historical fiction & how to's.

Has anyone read The Giver. It is for youngun's...about 4th or 5th grade reading level (so you can breeze through it in like a couple hours or something) but it was one of our 'read-alouds'(for the ktbunch)......anyway...the story line though is a bit sophisticated. VERY interesting so if anyone has read it.....I'd enjoy commenting on it w/ you.

It would be like a 'quickie' <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="images/icons/wink.gif" /> to read.

Tell me about it. Dteen just paid a $25 late fee on 2 paperbacks we could've purchased new for much less <img border="0" title="" alt="[Eek!]" src="images/icons/shocked.gif" /> <img border="0" title="" alt="[Roll Eyes]" src="images/icons/rolleyes.gif" /> ! I too rationalize it as for a kinda good cause. Plus, the fee was under other Dteen's card, and wasn't able to check out any books till it was paid. Had Dteen use own money, in attempt to teach some responsibilty...money talks in lots of ways!
