Wanted to share with the group that we received official confirmation from the doctor yesterday --the baby is NOT my H. It is a surreal feeling to finally know this after so much stress. (Apparently, the MARRIED OW is devastated, kept crying that "she didn't get the results she wanted; she needed a piece of him." Will she ever learn? What is she thinking? Will she ever come clean with her husband? Do I need to care anymore?)

While we're more than relieved, obviously, we also realize that now that this thing is far from over. Now, it's time to focus on our very new (just seven-months old) marriage, focus on us, focus on not letting something like this tear us apart again. In fact, my husband thanked me last night for being his "best friend" through this whole ordeal. I can't believe working through this tragedy has actually made our bond stronger. Bet OWs never think of that outcome!?! Well, we all know the saying about the Guy upstairs and mysterious ways. I felt the presence of God more so in the past months than ever in my life -- what a rock to lean on...

I can't begin to tell you how much help you've been for me in the past 7 months -- your wisdom, humor have really been a bright spot in an otherwise very lonely, long, windy road.

I keep you all in my thoughts and prayers. I pray that we all seek and find peace within our relationships. I hope that you realize how strong, unique, respectful, vibrant, funny, loving you all are to relative strangers. Truly, you are living the example.

I'm getting teary now....but happy tears.

Hi Niobe,

I am so happy for you. You just got the news that ever one of us so desperately wish we could receive. Too bad some of our WS's refuse to even take the DNA test.

Niobe,
Congrats on getting the proverbial "Get out of Jail free card."

This should be the end of all contact with xOW.
Hopefully, you and your H can move past this and continue making your M stronger!

I too am happy for you. All of us here wish for the same news. Like Genia said some WS's won't even have a DNA test. Good luck on your M.

Yeah, how old was OC and what prompted the test. I guess we are all curious.

Niobe,

Thank God U don't have an OC to intrude upon your life. I am very happy 4 U, the biggest smile came upon my face as I read your post.

She is not thinking & needs a good shrink in addition to prayer IMO.

YEAHHHHH!!! Hope U 2 celebrate & put this in the past where it belongs, never give OW a seoncd thought she isn't worth it.

Well, if you care to hear background, I'm more than happy to share. LONG STORY. OW was an ex-girlfriend from a years ago. After we became engaged in June 2003, H started getting freaky about his work, his relationships, the "Rest of His life." Dumb excuse for a 1NS, but there you go. OW had always portrayed herself as Donna Reed/the "good" girl/Mary you get the picture, while I was the one who was not subservient, liked to act as a partner with him, followed a career in NYC, liked to cook but didn't particularly like to clean...You get the picture.

So, when H had crisis of faith in us, he went out to lunch with the angelic OW, who promptly plied him with liquor, and Whoops!!! took him back to her place. NOW...here's the backstory. She was married (and has been for a while), and suffered a miscarriage in July. Docs told her NOT to try and get preg for a while, and also suggested D&C for remainder of pregnancy. (Sorry to be so clinical, it fits in the story.) Well, she didn't get the D&C, and she didn't get on BC, etc. After they had sex, she told him about BC. I think he probably almost threw up. Anyhow, about a week later she sleeps with her husband, and tells H that. And H doesn't hear from her for months. I know nothing...

Meanwhile, H is acting NUTS around me while I'm trying to plan a wedding....withdrawn, not himself. IF ONLY I HAD KNOWN WHAT IT ALL MEANT. So, about 2 WEEKS !!! before wedding, she calls him and says "I'm pregnant, it's yours, but you don't have to be involved." He flips out completely, has somewhat of breakdown (considers suicide, even) and tells me the next day on phone as I'm about to go into big client presentation...Thank God for shock. After 7 days of straight crying (and wedding stuff), we talked and decided that we loved each other to much to let this go on a "maybe baby." Perhaps a little naive.

So, H begged OW to get amnio, which she did. Results came back that H was NOT father in Feb., BUT b/c of the remaining tissue from previous pregnancy it was not conclusive. So...we've been waiting for Baby to be born 7 months!!!! Baby Girl was born on June 27 (my b-day is the 15th, so I was really hoping it wasn't then!) OW tried to send pics and updates, but H was like "I don't want to see them until we know." (B/c we weren't sure if we were going to do contact versus NC, and he felt the pics would muddy the water.) So, we finally got results yesterday, via fax from Doc and text from her. Like I said, she's "devastated."

So, yes, we were desparate for results. I think perhaps H would have v. much wanted contact with Baby, but I was not in favor of it. So, it looked to be a really bumpy road ahead.

All in all, I'd say he's fully over the "fog" for this girl. He seems BEWILDERED that she was as manipulative as I'd always said she was....men are funny creatures.

Thanks for sharing your story. It gives hope to those of us who don't know 100% for sure if H is the father. Good luck!

I know you couldn't be happier and maybe your H is now forever changed! That would scare the crap out of most men, not to ever do it again!. I hope ours turns out this way. Ow told H the her X was never around, didn't have anything to do w/ her or her son. (Hint his friend lives next door) And guess who might be mowing her grass? And I've seen him over at her house before that. And you know they spent Xmas together. DUH! So I hope God blesses me in the same way he has you !Love ans Peace be with yall

OW was with so many guys yet H doesn't want to even consider the fact that OC may not be his.

Here's hoping things work out for everyone!

I've known this woman since day one and she has ALWAYS had two men. (Beats me why) But H still said's he thinks its his and she I know is hoping that it is. But I have come to terms w/it no matter what. My friends are already planning a baby shower if it is his. A couples kinda thing. Just to help out w/ thing we will need if it is. They so sweet! But She was living w/ him when I filed for the D and then she started seeing H and kicked his dead beat butt out the door. And he is a dead beat in every since of the world. My H would have to pay twice the amount of CS he would. So Yea, she wants it to be H! God no wonder shes had so many problems and is sooo stressed out! I could even imagine!

I'm very happy for the both of you. Now you can have some peace and quiet and enjoy being newlyweds for the next 20, 30 or so years. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="images/icons/wink.gif" />

Hopefully, one of these days I'll be able to post my own "Results are in" thread in which I can say that the OW isn't pregnant.

Praise God that the both of you stuck together and didn't let her ruin your new marriage.
