As you all know on top of OC due Sept. 15th. My 19 year old daughter is missing. Last heard from her August 28th. She was going to go hang out with her Dad. Haven't heard from her since. Left most her clothes at her Dad's. I am beside myself. Too much stress. My back aches. I think I got atheritis. (sp?). I wish my husband made me feel attractive. I thought I was pretty till he came along. I am tired and stessing over my daughter all the time. Wondering if she is alive. Condolences, Ideas, anything. Police won't do nothing because she is an adult. I will keep looking till I find her. I always hoped I would never know what this was like. I always felt for Moms in movies who lost their kids. She is 19 but she is still my baby. [ September 08, 2004, 02:34 PM: Message edited by: Genia ]

genia!
The police won't DO anything????? Sorry, but regardless of her status as an adult, she is STILL a missing person after 48 hours, and they HAVE to take a report!!!
Wow, that's just NUTS!
(as for the cheer you need....I'll go dust off my pom poms...

Hi,
They took a report but I mean they told me because she is an adult that they cannot look for her.

That's BullPucky. Go back and ask to speak to a supervisor. One thing I've found out over the years is (and this is NOT a general slam on law enforcement) many cops DON'T know the LAW. Some will tell you they can do nothing when in fact they can!
There ARE things they can do.
Was this your local city police? If so, try the state police or sheriff or someone else...

Hi Problem is, my daughter was living with her Dad who lives in South Carolina. I live in North Carolina. Makes it kinda hard on me the sole breadwinner in my family to do an investigation. Plus, it would be dangerous. But I want my daughter back. They seem to think she might be hiding from us of her own free will. I do not think so. I do know she was seeing a 30 year old man. I think she may be in his control. I do not have a name. I am gonna try and get her cell phone records and call her contacts and see if anybody has heard from her. I hope we can get these records.

Genia,
Get on the phone and call the police dept. in SC. Ask to speak to the Cap. or the Comand Officer. If that does not work, call their Family Unit. You need to do something, this has been way too long. Look for a social service resource to guide you. Yes, she is an adult but she is a MISSING PERSON not a missing child. SHE IS MISSING and that is a problem.

Hi,
Thank you all for your concern. I just got terminated. Wow. When it rains it pours. I got one month to locate another job. But I am not to tell anybody. They are gonna pay me to go on job interviews. Man they wanna get rid of me bad, my job is suddenly obsolete. They do not need me. Maybe it is a blessing. Just maybe I will get a better job. You all pray that my daughter is safe.

genia, I'm so sorry your daughter is missing and your job is gone. Maybe change of job will be a blessing in disguise, and you'll get a chance to work on your daughter's case.
I hope so. With prayer, J

Hi Albany,
I hope not too. But really they did not have much work for me to do. So I don't think it was my fault. I am trying to have faith. Praying a lot now.

I am sorry that you have to deal with all of this at once. I have you and your family in my prayers.
If the police keep giving you the run around, is it possible for you to hire a P.I. to see if they could find her?

Thanks to everybody for their prayers and concern. I pray and hope for God's protection of my darling daughter. I will try everything. PS. I work for a bunch of cold hearted stuffed shirts. I told my boss I lost my daughter. I might as well have told him I lost a quarter. That is how much feeling he showed. I feel sorry for his wife. [ September 09, 2004, 08:08 AM: Message edited by: Genia ]

Genia,
So sorry to hear that you still have no word on your daughter's where abouts. Can't you or her father just keep bugging the police until someone does something?????? That is crazy I see lisitngs for missing adults all the time, they must do something. Maybe you can have some fliers made up w/ her picture on it & post them around where she was last seen?
I am praying for her safe return, sorry about your job too, but God never puts more on us than we can bear, he will see you thru this & protect your daughter. Big Big Hugs to you sweetie. {{{{{{{[[[[[[[Genia}}}}}}}}}}}}
