Today H got a letter from friend of the court, he no longer has to pay Cs (He nows has custody of Oc) but they are still taking money for Medicaid??
QUestion is why?? If Oc is living with us, he is no longer on his mothers case ( at least he shouldn't be) why would they still make H pay for it???
Right now H and I get some help, medicaid and a small amount of food stamps, why does he have to pay for Oc?

Maybe it's for back???? I would call and find out what it's about. He should not be paying her if you've got the oc. You need to find out if it's for back support or back medical that they are making him pay back.

H has a $181 credit for Medicaid and a $369 credit for Cs on his account. Guess I'll have to ride his [censored] Monday to get him to call and find out.

Oh yeah........if your state is anything like mine it takes forever for them to change things and I'm sure you guys could use the extra money with an additional mouth to feed and clothed.

for the medi-caid----could it be a share of cost? Like what they require him to pay BEFORE they will cover any medical bills?
Yes, the red tape sometimes takes forever to clear up! @ least they recognize that OC is w/ you guys so soon & stopped the CS. ********* ********* I had a friend who got custody of his daughter very similiar to the way you guys did (unfit mother on drugs) BUT they still had him paying CS for awhile. AND the state was still sending the UNfit mother state support for the daughter THAT he had custody of. Then he was being sued by the state to pay that back as well & it was their mistake to begin w/.
He had to hire a lawyer just to stop it but you better believe he never got any of his $$$$$ back or reimbursed for the lawyer fees. ******** ******** ********* If you don't already, check & there is usually a form your H has to sign (& mail in to the state/county)to give you access or the right for them to discuss the case w/ you---then @ least you can make some phone calls your self if you want to be able to find out info like this for him.

The he let the phone calls begin.

This is why it doesn't make sense. It's only $10 a week, but it doesn't make sense
