Anyone have any ghost stories for this Halloween weekend? I've got a few:

When Nio and I were first married, he worked till 11 pm at the SO. Since I worked "normal" hours, I was usually asleep by the time he got home. On more than one occasion, tho, I'd awaken to a man in a black fedora standing by my bed. I was never scared...but every time I'd reach out to touch his hand, and he'd just vanish. After a few months of this, I told Nio. My man turned white as a sheet (for a Latino, that is bad <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="images/icons/wink.gif" /> ) and told me that they buried his father in a black fedora. The visits continued off and on for the next 6 years till finally I got fed up with being woken like that, and I very calmly asked him to please knock or something so I'd know he was there (I'm nothing if not balls-y, I guess....).

The next one happened after my mil passed. My youngest was only 7 mos. when she left us, and he is named after dwh and her beloved h. The sun rose and set on my boy in her eyes. When he was a newborn she took care of him when I had to go back to work. She took care of him till she was diagnosed with stomach cancer, and even then hesitated to tell us because she wanted to be with my boy. After she passed, we moved into her house in order to take care of my bil who has Downs...since his mom just passed, all the siblings felt it'd be in his best interest if he wasn't uprooted any more than he already had been. So in we moved. My daughter and two sons all had their own rooms in the split level house. Many was the night that one of my children would call for me, I'd go up, and they'd be in their beds, content and snug as bugs in rugs...I'd kiss their little pointed heads, and sniff them (you parents know what I mean....nothing smells as great as sleeping babies) and they'd smell EXACTLY like my mil's fav. perfume. Again, it wasn't scary...it was almost comforting that I felt she was still there loving my babies as always.

Lastly, I've some prints of artwork that belonged to my daddy. I've also got some paintings that my grandfather painted. I never hung the prints till my last house in SAT....and only had recently hung the bluebonnet paintings. I cannot tell you how many times all of those pictures would be crooked on my walls. That is a MAJOR LB for me....I hate a crooked picture (it's the OCD in me). When we were trying to sell the house, I'd go through on a daily basis and straighten the things..........UG! Finally, one night after having straightened the one in my bedroom for the umpteenth billion time, I exploded and said, "GRANDPA AND DADDY IF YOU DON'T CUT THIS OUT, I'M GONNA TAKE ALL YOUR PICTURES DOWN!!!!!!!!!" Never had ONE of them be crooked again after that.

SSSSSSPPPPPPOOOOOOKKKKKKYYYYYY!

Happy Halloween
