Okay does anybody know if you have had continous coverage on a group insurance and then switch to an indivual policy if they can exclude you for pre exsisting conditions? Like for instances my daughter may need tubes put in her ears and she has been on stbxh's policy and xmm is to put her on his policy or buy her a policy (as of August, but not done yet, but in the works) which he is paying for a policy indivual. I thought there was a law that came out a few years ago that stated that if you have continous insurance they can not exclude you on anything. Does anybody know? If so I've got to figure out what to do about her tubes either putting it off (which I don't want to do) or putting a clause in our order or something about it being delayed and all. Or since she offically has not seen the ENT (only me talking to him while other daughter was there today and him telling me he was calling my doctor today and getting this handled when they put my other daughters tubes in again) but has had a ear infection every month since July would that already be considered a pre exsisting? I'm really confused now.

I doubt that the insurance co. would consider this a pre existing cond. usually they only care about the big stuff like pregnancy or diabetes for instance. If a person does have a pre-existing cond. the ins. co. usually just make you wait 6 months before they will pay for treatment. Do you know the name of the new company? I would go ahead and call them with your situation if I were you.

Yes I do. I have a broker I work with and I guess I should just call him on Monday.
