Hey friends,
I think OW is married but trying to hide it. How would I go about checking out her marital status?

I don't know how they do it in NY where you are, but where I am only the parties involved are legally allowed to obtain a copy of a marriage license, etc...
I have to figure that there must be some other way to find out though. She hasn't changed her name or address or anything?
Maybe an online search, though it could be costly, could get that info for you??

Isn't a ML public records? I know Divorce records are. So are birth Cert. They put it in the paper? So anything public, you should be able to get your hands on. Try county records in the county she lives. But if she was M out of state, you may have to know that first. Call your county clertks office to me that would be the best way to find out. Good luck. Sunny D

It depends on your city/county/state.
Here in my area, I can type in a name online and have my county's Vital Records pop up with the correct info. So you will probably need to check to see how your area documents this and how is it accessible.

I can go through my county online and it will pull up any public records offered online. ML are one that you can see. You get the parties names (including womans name before marriage) the date of marriage and a lic., number. It's free. If you want to order the certificate you have to pay for it.
